Last week was my birthday and I didn't feel very well waking up on that morning. I had finally turned 50 and it was really bothersome. I tried to take care of myself, but I was looking more like my 75 year old father every day. Middle Age! Balding! Belly Paunch! Turkey Neck! Over the Hill didn't do it justice.

I went downstairs for breakfast hoping my wife would be pleasant and say, 'Happy Birthday!', and possibly have a small present for me.

As it turned out, she barely said good morning, let alone ' Happy Birthday.'

I thought... Well, that's marriage for you, but the kids... They will remember.

My kids came bounding down stairs to breakfast and didn't say a word.

So when I left for the office, I felt pretty low and somewhat Despondent.

As I walked into my office, my secretary Jane said, 'Good Morning Boss, and by the way Happy Birthday ! '

Well, that made me feel a little better. At least someone had remembered.

I worked until one o'clock , when Jane knocked on my door and said, 'You know, It's such a beautiful day outside, and it is your Birthday, what do you say we go out to lunch, just you and me.'

I said, 'Thanks, Jane, that's the greatest thing I've heard all day.
Let's go !'

So, when we got to the door of our usual cafe, I was surprised when she kept walking. We arrived at a quiet bistro and were escorted to a private table. We had two martinis each and talked nonstop of anything and everything except the office. I enjoyed the meal tremendously.

Walking back to the office, Jane said, 'You know, It's such a beautiful day... We don't need to go straight back to the office, do we ?'

I responded, 'I guess not. What do you have in mind ?'

She said, 'I've worked for you for 5 years and you've never been to my house. My apartment is just around the corner...why don't we drop by and I can show you around.'

'OK', I said, with a little pick up in my step.

After arriving at her apartment, Jane turned to me and said, ' Boss, I need to take care of something, so if you don't mind, I'm going to step into the bedroom for just a moment. I'll be right back.'

'Ok.' I nervously replied.

She went into the bedroom and, after a couple of minutes, she came out carrying a huge birthday cake ...

Followed by my wife....
my kids......
and dozens of my friends....
and co-workers.....
all singing 'Happy Birthday'.

And I just sat there...

On the couch...

Naked.

I cried cause I had been so scared and hearing my daughter's heart beat made me so happy. Medical personal seemed afraid of me at that moment. LOL.

I was so nervous about today exam at my gyno doc, but everything except my blood pressure is okay, and whats important the most - my baby is okay. When I heard her heart beating I had that big smile on my face, I was simply purring there just from the knowing shes doing fine.


I was scared too. The need to know the baby is doing well is overhelming sometimes. Its nice to know everything is okay.



LOL my lil daughter already thinking how we will sleep 3 in one bed heh cuz she loves when I lay down with her untill she fall asleep. I told her she will have to share me with her sis once shes born. Shes so cute jelaous of that situation and I gotta assure her I will love her still the same. She dont like I will love both of them the same tho, it takes me lots of energy to explain her thats what mums does, love all their kids the same way.

Shes looking forward for her sis alot, wish her dad felt the same way about it... Seems like I will sleep surrounded by those two lil angels, each from one side. I will. I dont want my 6 yo to feel pushed away once the second one is born. Good I have two hands, will surely need them so I could hug both of them at the same time. ~smiles~

I spoke with my lil girl about it today when she told me I am so big she can hardly hug me. I told her "well I got your sister in my belly, you will hug me as you used to once shes born". She said "I will hug you like this" and then she huged me from the front, I told her and your sister will hug my ass? She laughed and said yes LOL. We laughed about it and then I told her I will hug her with one hand and her sister with other hand. She smiled at me and told me I am the best mum of all mum's.

I am far away from being that good mum LOL, but hear my lil girl saying that to me made me smile yes. There was times when I thought she might rather live with her dad than with me when we have split, I always thought she loved him more than me, well my ex is more fun than me, always was, but shes all about me and I am glad she is, I need her. If I knew she wanted live with him instead of me I would let her, but I am happy to no end she wanna live with me tho. This true inocent love of my lil girl means everything to me right now.

Shes so full of energy and joy, it makes me feel I am doing a good job when I see her that happy. When I see she knows she can always run to me and tell me things or just give me a hug or anything. We hug alot. She loves it and me too. I think theres never enough of hugs for those we love. I surely love to give them and I love to see how my lil girl enjoy them. Have her in my arms when shes falling asleep is the sweetest thing I know and it makes me feel as the happiest mum ever.

My lil princess makes me smile yes.
