Even Cliff Richard was once referred to as The King of Rock and Roll. It was usually modified to The British King of Rock and Roll.
Or 'the British Elvis'
I'm trying very hard not to snicker at the image that created of Elvis saying "Ya all come back now, ya har?" with his Memphis accent blended into a deep British brogue.
.
Even at the time we recognised that Cliff Richard was a pale imitation of Elvis. Cliff tried, tried hard, but he wasn't convincing.
His 1958 hit Move It:

This is more typical Cliff, from the movie Summer Holiday:

Both of which were driven by 'agents' and so on, I reckon.
It was a good while before Cliff made his best (produced by Bruce, I gather)
This is one of them: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Pulwa9s7Q_4
Doesn't he do lots of "Green" songs ? (from 40 shades of green)
And The music scene moves real quick round here.
The more things change the more they stay the same.

"Under Capitalism, man exploits man; under Communism, it's the other way around."
The wealthy hate the idea of any kind of socialism...until there's a pothole on their street or it's their house on fire.

Many forms of government seem plausible at a glance, and look good on paper. It's when you add human nature that the bloom comes off the rose.
Wasn't it Churchill who suggested that democracy was far from perfect, but it was better than the alternatives?
It was, and I agree with Thatcher, about the trouble with Socialism being that sooner or later, you run out of other people's money.
If it's later, it's likely to be too late

We won't have any worries once this "trickle down" thing kicks in. It's been building up for 35 years so when it finally comes we'll all be rich too.
.
I love Trickle Down Elmo!
I think that qualifies as unnecessary PUNishment.
.
So did Katy... Parry!
I like Katy Perry but kind of feel sorry for her too.
She had such a string of successes with the Teenage Dream album that she was left with the near impossible expectations of coming out with an even more successful one. When you're tied with Michael Jackson for most #1 singles from a single album, that's an achievement that says "I've hit the top of the top, what more do you expect?"
The music industry is littered with plenty of one-hit-wonders and it seems as if that's the slot they'd like to wedge her into.
.
I feel bad for Katy because she used to be so hot - that Bettie Page thing going on - but the last time I saw her she was... well... WTF IS that look? Yeesh!
What's a Katy Perry?
Something to do with Perry Mason, perhaps ?
Fun trivia question: How many cases did Perry Mason lose?
.
Three, apparently.
