The National Enquirer, that bastion of dirt-digging and snooping, well known for its hard hitting stories about women having Elvis' love child, thirty years after he died, or the aliens which came to dinner, has now entered into an agreement with the attorney's office of the Southern District of New York to effectively, tell all. The wording of the agreement:

"The agreement also acknowledges, among other things, AMI's acceptance of responsibility, its substantial and important assistance in this investigation, and its agreement to provide cooperation in the future and implement specific improvements to its internal compliance to prevent future violations of the federal campaign finance laws."

AMI is the parent company of the Enquirer, and whose owner has been very good friends with the con artist for many, many years. In fact, the two were such good friends, the Enquirer bought numerous stories from women claiming to have had affairs with the con artist, then promptly buried the stories so the con artist wouldn't be embarrassed. However, in so doing during the 2016 election, AMI slipped up.

"AMI admitted that it made the $150,000 payment in concert with a candidate's presidential campaign, and in order to ensure that the woman did not publicize damaging allegations about the candidate before the 2016 presidential election."

In short, AMI made illegal campaign contributions in concert with the con artist's campaign in an effort to keep the stories of these multiple affairs not being an issue.

The prior paragraph from the agreement is the more telling. In exchange for not being pounded into oblivion by the investigators, AMI has agreed to offer up what it has done and knows about the con artist, a situation which clearly intrudes into the con artist's corrupt way of life.

It's almost criminals will turn on one another when the thought of going to jail is raised.

UPDATE

Apparently the con artist was at a 2015 meeting with both Michael Cohen and David Pecker, the chairman of American Media Inc., parent company of the National Enquirer. This meeting revolved around ways to prevent the multiple stories about the con artist's infidelity from coming out.

During the meeting, the group discussed a plan to shield Trump from potentially damaging stories. Prosecutors say this amounted to illegal donations to Trump's campaign.
. . .
The newspaper reported that Trump asked Pecker what he could do to help his presidential campaign.

Pecker said he would keep Cohen appraised of negative stories about the con artist.

Story to continue. . .

MSNBC last night put up a collage of it's anti-Hillary covers during the campaign. WOW.
