not sure how many words

The air is like heroin to me
Veins like rivers,
Over there where the low tide's sell the blackest mud,
It falls away occasionally from the shoes of the tree.

My feet are like air to me.
The killer knee and electric seats, barrell laughs and jokes galore,
The last thing was so clear-
The sun is a mailrun
Gladly done, along runways and gladiola lights.

The dirt is surely precious to me,
Osterizer fingers spin your strange soil,
Waiting as, as, the colors
Push.

Human fascination.

You have the most beautiful mind. :)

And this Bill Evans is a beautiful choice my dear.

I changed the last verse, as it began.

Yes. Nice night, isn't it? :D

over and out.

I should mess with you and unplug your router connection.

This could lead to pleading, in either direction. :D

Country asphalt
Shara's runway,
Gladiola lights and
unknown chords, a siren and
new wiring,
fingernails
and that black silk, the
way perfect breasts come see me.

Hammer down
middle finger-
followed
melodiously third finger
bottleneck,
hardware store
copper-
"what you want cop?'

Rainy road
Quarter Mile
Middle 8
Applause.

I started reading backwards but ........

I'm still coming up short on why you put the halibut in the hammock but I'm sure a twist of lemon couldn't hurt.

You didn't miss a one.

;)

Those dyke balls still sneak up on me. I never expect to see those.

opening windows

A clockwise crank,
the spider fields
shuffle and behind the shroud of the
star and cloud draperies,
the Crabapple comes
into view.

This northeastern country
all locked in ice and now this?
Hot as a crotch and
humid like the space between her breasts,

The sun senses its fall,
relents beneath the Maple and Beech wall,
the shade of night
like the brush of lips
naturally becomes
an event made for beauty.

I couldn't imagine living in an area where the seasons didn't change in drastic fashion. ....nice the way you bring this into view.

hey,...are squirrels inherently bad animals or do they have a nasty local rep?

:D

They do when I hear them running around on the other side of my bathroom wall. Otherwise they're um bucolic.

I rather like the little bastards.

They visit on our deck and seem wonderfully dumb.

:D :)

You can take the boy out of the foggy west, but....

yikes,....I sure am glad I found this before my therapist answered the phone.

hmmm...caller ID, she probably knows it was me anyway,

Now I have at least a better understanding of the squirrel situation.

Ange, if you know they are there, but quiet, don't you think they might just be savoring the voyeuristic thrills you grant them?

My pets stay outside... :)

That noise she hears is crazy Neil next door, scratching his back like a bear on the sheetrock corner.

 I've had neighbors like that,.....in fact, I've been that crazy neighbor a time or two.

...the 3 am fireball in the yard doesn't even get lights turned on anymore. The dogs don't bark cause they know they'll get a piece of whatever's on the grill.

up early,
six straight, shootin for eight.
code orange i hear on roadways thru
some pastoral breathing/weezing,
while Akron and Cleveland
send soot and coal fired death and news I wont even read.

old folks stay inside clutching something,
no mirage- thats the asphalt
bending,
like the future, buddy,
its not what I asked
but its all gone past-

Lets swim in the river,
She remains.
I'll miss her when Im gone.

Asphalt tar sticks and pulls
like taffy, stretching
to a thin fine strand.
Scraping shoes
in loose gravel
does no damn good.

River water boiling
white with foam and fury
swallowing whole, the unafraid
mock death in newfound
spontaneous paralysis

Currents swirling whirlpool
grabbed an ankle,
then a thigh, both hands
were the last to disappear.

Thirty-five gurgling feet
downstream, frantic
hands reappeared
reaching for oxygen
trying to breathe by palm

Back smacking stimulation
source of the fountain
coughing water spit
pouring from his nose

Yee-haw! the battle cry
of new salvation echoed
off the hills but returned
in siren's wailing

Ever taunting of the Reaper
survivor's stunts, gamblers
call the near death and raise
the solemn stakes.

Back arched flawlessly
swanning dive,
toes together forever now
alive but now forever still.

heat of the day
drawn around your eyes
honest sweat no tears
but air close as pores
the skin of rags
no sin but working
wages its own war
the hours run
like a bead down a jamb
and up the road again.

My tired smile
whispers Yes
to little faces,
my fingers curl
smaller ones to pencils

this way, this way
you can, we can,
it's ok

"I'll take a bit more reverb,"
or perhaps we go green twig fishing,
while the Weedeater hums on lackluster
fuel, but I shut the window on the vacant worker boys,
palms on silvers and a thumbpick,
laughing at the hardhats and the dimness of the noise.

Change your mind
change it again
you may get the chord
when you begin the begin.

The drums were a tad behind
but still so nice and low,
I dont need to eat any meat or
the beautific glow.

"I'll take a bit more reverb."
