An glad I made home in time before IR started raining now am watching the nanny with Fran fine
 
Roma/Plum tomatoes, onion, garlic, basil cooked.

Put in on a dough, it's sauce
Put a meatball in it, or not, serve it over pasta, it's a gravy.

It's both sarcastic and a recipe. What I gave was a basic, "Mother" sauce, something that can be used as is, or have stuff added to it.

I cook too much, for too long, worked with too many Italian families as a teen, to call it gravy.
