Last couple of days, when trying to log in, I have been getting the attached warning from my browser saying the the Literotica 'security certificate expired'. I have been just clicking on 'Proceed to Literotica....' anyway, and do not see any problems resulting from that. Just thought I would post this in case it becomes a problem.

I just got the same thing today. Using Firefox.

Got the warning, also. Using Firefox. Security certificate expired. Switched to safari but probably not the best strategy. Literotica needs to stay current. Where to inform them...???

It is the same here and I use Chrome. It's a Lit side issue that they have to fix. It's usually a server issue and sometimes it clears itself up on it's own. Not always.

They need to renew their security certificate. It's from Lets Encrypt, so its free, and shouldnt take long to do

I use Chrome. For weeks, I was getting a Riskware message here. Now if I try to click the BB link from the main page, I get a message telling me that my computer clock is fast. It's not. I can bypass this by clicking on the stories link and from there, the BB link. PITA but I agree it's likely a certificate problem.

Thanks for the messages.

Sorry about the warnings. This was supposed to be updated yesterday, but it did not take. It should be fixed momentarily.

Thank you all again for letting me know. :D:D

I'm glad to see that I'm not alone. Thanks. I hope Lit fixes the problem soon, but somehow, I think this is a hint that the end might be near.

Should be fixed, please let me know if you are still seeing the error.

Thank you again for the reports. :D

Not seeing the error now upon log in. Just seeing the "Not secure" before the link.

Hi everyone the reason that you see that warning is that this site uses
Http:// Hyper Text Transfer Protocol
and not
https:// Hyper Text Transfer Protocol Secure

All sites are encouraged to use https:// protocol these days as it is more secure than the alternate. Any web site can get a certificate and be made into a https:// site with minimal cost and work.

Almost all browsers now give this warning and it is getting more common to see the errors or certificate warnings.
The reason is, its not as easy to hack a secure site, and all the details sent back and forth are encrypted, and not sent over the air in plain text as some are.

This means that a savy geek can interrupt your transmission to the site and see exactly what you sent and to whom, this includes your user name and your password if they are transmitted in plain text.

If you visit sites that are not https:// then make sure that you don't use the same password on other sites, that way if your credentials do get into the wrong hands at least it will be only to one site, and I hope you all don't use the same one for your banking details either if you do online banking.

sorry this may have one over your heads a bit for some of you, but https:// good, http:// not so good. :D

I should never let my geek out, get back in your box, go on, get in there, :D

It is now fixed. And Lit does use https. Once the certificate was renewed the site was able to get the keys needed to utilize https again.

Still not secure for me. Has been like this for at least a few months now. I use chrome if it makes a difference.

Thank you for the info. This is a different issue than the certificate. You can optionally use the HTTP or HTTPS version of the forum. The reason for this is because historically many people have linked to non HTTPS emojis, memes, etc. If we force everyone over to HTTPS, then all of the HTTP embeds will be broken. We tried that briefly and it caused a lot of support requests and complaints.

So, you can optionally access either the secure or the old URL:
http://forum.literotica.com/
https://forum.literotica.com/

Hope that makes sense! :D
