Bandit's Blurt and Vent Thread

We survived the weekend but we're both really tired, and Sir has not long come off dialysis which has wiped Him out a bit - it always does after a 2 day break when there is more fluid to come off than usual.

Hey I thought diabetics weren't supposed to have sensitive feet  Sir has the most ticklish feet, even after 35 years of diabetes. He has a bit of a cold and a sore throat atm, so when He was on the machine He asked me to put Vicks on His feet (it's supposed to help and it does seem to!).

Well....I had a Sir laughing and giggling so much He had to bite on His hand ;) It's hilarious, He's like a little kid :D Even the times I bathed Him when He had the vascath in His chest (not allowed to get it wet), when I dried His feet He could not keep still!

Despite the ticklish feet, we thank our lucky stars that He still has feet to tickle :)

:)

I am glad he still has feet and you too!

you two are such a shining example.

of working through hard times. of love no matter what. of making it. of surviving. of relocation that worked out wonderfully. of living life despite the troubles.

i look up to you so much.

  Thank you so much mis :rose: I know you have your own health troubles, there are some good thoughts going your way that you will heal quickly and be back to normal soon :rose: *hug*

Sir has just gone to bed. It is just after 9pm

These past few days His sleep pattern has changed. From going for weeks being up and awake most of the night, He's now going to bed very early and getting up at 3-4am. He's actually getting more and better quality sleep, and I think He is feeling better for it.

Although the other night I got up at 3am to pee and when I came back to bed He said "Oh good you're awake" and proceeded to demand a blowjob - which did enable Him to sleep for another 2 hours.....:D

Sir must have a tapeworm. Seriously, His appetite has increased dramatically

It goes in cycles. Days when His appetite is non existent and we struggle to find something to tempt it. Now He's eating heaps and looking around for more.

Maybe the dialysis is working better. Maybe because it's winter and it's cold. Could be any reason  Life is never dull around here! :D

LOL I'm like that - rarely hungry. K jumps through hoops trying to find food I'll eat. LOL

Oh more joy - Sir has to have a colonoscopy
The specialist wants it done within the next month. He's been having trouble with constipation and they want to check Him out despite the laxative that was prescribed working and He's having no problems now.

With all His medical problems they'll put Him in the hospital for the prep so they can keep an eye on him. Only expecting Him to be in for a couple of days though, then back home for dialysis I expect! :)

It's never ending doctor's appointments around here

6th July - Respiratory clinic 9.30am
27th July - Renal clinic 2pm
4th August - Pre admission clinic for colonoscopy 8.45 am
17th August - Colonoscopy

Whether Sir gets the colonoscopy on that day all depends if there's a bed available. Hopefully He will get to do the prep in hospital the day before. I don't want a blood sugar crash at home because He's being cleaned out and fasting!

Dialysis has been going well lately *touch wood* We're rearranging our schedule to fit all these appointments in so He'll do Sunday and have a break Mon/Tue instead of the usual weekend break.

Me? I may have to go to the doctor myself, I've been having a few "hot flashes" despite being on birth control pills. I need a repeat script so will ask about having a blood test then. I may need different medication - perhaps hormone replacement instead of the b/c pill. *turns to google* :)

Oh, so you are listening to me about caring for yourself.:D

because she loves you, silly man.

Time for the tutu picture!

:eek:Oh a request that I can't refuse but you'll have to be patient as this is a new pc & it's not on here, I'll have to search it out just for you. :D

Hi all, I haven't been on Lit for 3 days cos my laptop suddenly won't find the Lit server  It goes to other sites no problem, including collarme and fetlife, so I have no idea what's going on.

Luckily Sir's PC is playing more friendly

Poor BANDIT:heart: has had a horror day caring for me with massive leg cramps, Drop in BP to low & blood sugar also dropping low both BP & sugars drop had me near fainting/ blacking out, she handled it so well as last time I had the above problems whil on dialysis I was in hospital with 2 nurses rubbing each of my legs, another feeding me sweets for the low blood sugar & other doing my BP & my wonder woman handled it all on her own although she did let go with lots of tears once I was back near normal & safe.

I'm so blessed to have her love & care.

He's on the machine again today because He only got about 4 1/2 hours before the cramping became very bad and He almost passed out :( It's going ok so far *fingers crossed*

We've increased His dry weight by a kilo and no matter how much fluid/weight He's got on we're not going to go over 500ml/hr take-off rate. We may even have to go to dialysing every 2nd day which is a pain but may be better for Him in the long run.

And yes I did have a few tears after yesterday's drama but it was just a reaction to the adrenalin rush I had while trying to get Sir off the machine while also trying to stop Him from passing out - I even told Him "Don't you dare pass out on me!" Not very sub-like at all ;) :D

MINX your right BANDIT:heart: is amazing in so many ways, ppl here only get a glimpse of how truely wonderful she is. I am blessed to have her in my life.

We got through todays Dialysis with no troubles at all but the concern is that my dry weight has gone up 4kg this year even though I'm not eating more & doing the same/ similar exercises  I've had consistant weight for the last few years

MINX we both have you in our thoughts too.

oh yeah...that is confusing  If you're not eating more, could you be eating different things?

I know that I feel like I have put weight on in the last few weeks...I don;t think I am eating more in terms of volume, but I have introduced different foods, with higher fat content and am guessing it could be that.

....that or the odd choccie biscuit, wine, chocolate etc....:eek:

What does the doctor say?

and she is inspirational. Infact I think both of you are and your relationship and the love you share. :rose:

and thankyou for your thoughts Gil *smile* I appreciate that very much

And as if we needed more drama....

I was woken this morning at about 5.40am by Sir making funny noises. I reached out and found Him covered in sweat - He was having a massive hypo (low blood sugar). I did a test, it was 2.2 on the meter - normal is between 5 and 8.

So I started feeding Him soft caramels and wiping Him down with a towel. 15 minutes later I did another test - 2.1  He'd had about 5 caramels by then and it should have been coming up. He was responding to me but His speech was slurred and He was still managing to chew and swallow the sweets. Another couple of sweets and 10 more minutes, I did yet another test - it hadn't moved still 2.1.

It had been over half an hour and it should have started to come up by then so I called the ambulance. A few minutes later it arrived and two lovely ladies came in and took over, they gave Him an injection of glucagon and it was only a couple of minutes or so before He started to come round. Huge sigh of relief from me!

We had breakfast and then went back to bed for a while, Sir was chilled from the hypo so a nice warm snuggle was in order :)
