1) Doms are: trim, lithe and never out of shape, young and built with 6pack abs or middle aged distinguished and keep in shape, Independently wealthy or own their company and can leave work without repercussions, able to travel with little or no planning, insatiable, is a walking encyclopedia of lifestyle knowledge, rope experts, never has to say Oops.

2) Subs: are multi-orgasmic, highly pain tolerant, have little to no gag reflex, able to wear Ultra-high heels and walk in them without effort, rarely overweight, have perky tits, VERY bendy! able to bypass dress codes and sexual harassment policies at work without repercussions, always able to find a Dom that supports them.

3) Personal dungeons are filled with top of the line equipment, always have electrical restraint systems, multiple choices of each toy/instrument no matter what the cost, miraculously cleaned and restocked after each use, and never have any any device that is obviously handmade other than "lovingly tooled" leather items.

And finally, everyone showers before and after a scene which may be up to 10 scenes in a single day.

Ha! You almost nailed it, Gracie. You forgot the random incest wandering, but well observed. Welcome to the land of Lit!

I've generally tried to make my characters more believable. But I've had my partners god mode extra muscles, wealth, and a longer schlong onto my characters. So after awhile, I gave up and accepted that that is what they want.

In both pictures and stories, I much prefer to people who are more relatable. As in middle-aged, tired after work, worried about bills, and maybe, just maybe, a little chubby. Hard to find, though! I suppose people use this as an escape.

But I don't think that escapism is only found in bdsm stories. In any genre, the characters always seem to have that little... extra.

Yes, one does have to play to the masses. And yes, I did miss that the usual description is 8-9 inches and really fat (Think soda can) but in my defense, my list was posted quite early this morning after a brief but intense conversation with Capt. Morgan. LOL

And it makes us so jealous and wanting more!

Thanks, I'm having fun and I hope others will add to this list also. Wait til I start on misused words!

The stuff I like can't actually be done in real life. I prefer my erotica to be outrageous fantasy because I can do all that other stuff in real life, cellulite and all. Give me perky tits and perfect hair and a never ending supply of fucked up equipment.

Don't care about the hair, just give me that just f@@ked look every time but please give me perky tits and a flat ab!

Lol hahaha
Love it, satire is my favourite type of humour. You nailed it xx

I wish I knew the limits on what I can say and not say before it becomes spamming or promoting my own stuff.

But, here goes: I have a book being published next year (No time line yet but 2017 for certain. Or so says the publisher.) where the characters wear designer shoes and clothes. Both the Doms and the subs. Hell, even the lesbian character does. And the guys wear designer suits. Including the LGBT guys. Not the typical erotica setup or plot.

No ugly white pumps anywhere, though one character transforms from frumpy to fabulous. Not much of the other stuff about no gag reflex, pain? what's pain?, and stuff like that. It doesn't even follow the usual fuck, pain, fuck, torture, fuck sequence.

MY POINT is that while erotic lit is usually typecast to who and what, it doesn't have to be set in concrete. Porn, OTOH, is pretty standardized. Even the scripts follow the same sequence. I think that most erotic lit is the same with the same result. Does this make most erotica into porn? Is there really a difference? I think there's a difference, but I don't really know.

So, I guess what I'm saying is: if you want to write erotica, write erotica. Not porn or crap that someone else already wrote. Believable characters and an interesting plot go a lot further than unrealistic scenes of never ending porn.

OTOH, if you're writing porn, keep writing on. We need porn too.

Doms are also experts in reading people and never have to check in or learn a subs limits because they're awesome mind and body readers.

Subs are also flighty creatures, unable to maintain enough control over their sexual desires to form a coherent thought and keep themselves safe.

All subs can deep throat 10 inch cocks.

Where are the gaggers?

Where are the teeny peenies?

What's wrong with that

And subs can never count correctly!

Most of it are terrible but I guess we're getting what we paid for. A majority of readers on Lit love short strokers and no-brainer erotica. Stories that cater to these crowds get the most response.

If you ever get the time, check out this author. I think you'll find comparatively fewer clichés as compared to others. It's his writing that sells rather than the story itself.

Heh. I wrote a scene about that:

"I think a nice round dozen strokes to begin with. How does that sound?"

...

SMACK! "Eleven, Miss Linda, thank you!"

SMACK! "Eleven, thank you miss!"

"Hmm?"

"Eleven, ma'am."

"Are you certain?"

"Yes, ma'am. Nine, ten, eleven."

SMACK! "Eleven, thank you miss!" SMACK! "And eleven, thank you!"

^this. SO MUCH.

Related: doms never need aftercare and never go out of dom mode.
