Canada expected to run out of weed following legalization

A lot of complications arise with legalizing recreational marijuana, but for Canada, the country's biggest challenge is growing enough weed to satisfy demand. The country’s minister of finance, Charles Sousa, said that the country is currently navigating how to deal with the shortage, reports Bloomberg.

“Ultimately the biggest problem that appears after today’s discussion is one of supply,” Sousa said to the news outlet last week following a meeting to discuss the problem. “So we want to make certain that, when we do proceed, there is sufficient supply to accommodate the activity because what we’re trying to do is curb the illicit use and organized crime that now exists around it.”

All Canadians should plant Hemp to avoid the shortages!

We are to be allowed to grow 4 plants for personal use. This could create a shortage for the period between legalization and harvest.

If the government thinks that black market pot will disappear they are dreaming. Legal pot right now while high in THC is outrageously expensive. I doubt that legal pot after legalization will become cheaper. Will have to see if plain old capitalism produces reduced prices.

Yeah, when I saw the prices of weed here in the states, I couldn't believe it. It better come with a side of pure gold.

How come there's no good hash in Canada and it keeps being imported?

Ha! Now he likes Capitalism.

Maybe after legalization we will see a more specialized product like has h become more popular. Don't see much oil these days and that has always been a domestic product.

Not sure where you get the idea I don't like capitalism. How else are you to generate tax income for social programs. That's the problem with you Yank capitalism or nothing types. And the old Soviet socialism or nothing types. You need a healthy free market economy to pay for socialist social policies. Can't very well tax the poor now can you. They don't have any money, hence why they are called poor. So you have big oil companies and banks that generate billions and billions in profits. So they can be taxed.

Not that Canada's tax rate is so much greater than the US. A few percentage points higher on corporate tax and on the rich. While the lower end gets a tax break of just a few percentage points.

Canada has to support an infrastructure across the 2nd largest country in the world with a population of 35th. One hundred miles of fibre optic cable for high speed internet does not reach near the number of customers as in the US. Shipping and distribution of consumer goods is also much more expensive as they do not reach near the same number of customers.

We have a free market capitalist economy that is used to support socialist social programs. Best of both worlds.

I have tried to educate your previous alt but apparently you are to thick to learn.

hehehe.. once more, an alt = alternative. It's not an alt when you only have one working account.

The tax brackets in the US invite you to do more. The brackets in Canada punish you for making more money.

For H, you mean its coz its not popular?

Apparently we are both wrong. You tax your rich at a higher rate. Fucking commies!

Federal Income Taxes
U.S. federal income tax brackets range from 10% to 35% for individuals. On the Canadian side, the range is 15% to 29%. In the U.S., the lowest tax bracket bumps to 15% at $8,500 and to 25% at $34,501. The bottom Canadian bracket stays at 15% until $41,544. This is the bulk of the reason that lower-income Canadians are often better off than Americans in an identical tax situation. On the other hand, the IRS taxes the richest Americans at 35% whereas the top federal tax rate in Canada is 29%.

LOL. Yep, a Canadian calling Americans commies. Does it sound right to you?

You are looking at federal rates only.

US state tax is very different from the Canadian provincial one.

You have 7 or 8 tax free states, and the rest, the highest there is are like NY & CA at 10.5% with the average income earner not paying more than 9% with an average of 6-8% after deductions.

Sales tax in the US is generally lower, with many states below 6%.

The provincial tax in Ontario is 10-15%, and in places like Quebec goes up to 26%, with average at 22-24% You need to add this to the federal one!

Sales tax in Ontario is 7.5% and in Quebec 15%.

Tax rate calculation is complex as you know, many variables and deductions. But overall, you pay at least 10% and often 15% less tax in the US if you make around a hundred thousand. And the competitive market gives you a higher quality of services and customer service.

Trust me, Canadians are the commies by far.

So, why again don't you have any good hash around? lack of popularity?

They put me down, they ignore me, they wanna teach me, they wanna humiliate me.

And then I reply. And then...

They disappear.

No fun. No wonder i'm looking for a hash joint.
