*tip of the hat, to the GB Northerner

Ever since I joined the GB, there has been talk of how the needy, and elderly, and ill, were getting very shabby treatment from the UK government. I read the UK newspapers, and it was said that the Tories would not give the money that was needed. Austerity for thee, luxury living for the Tory.(dolf dropped some hints, too.)

Where the fuck did they get £ 1 billion ?

A skit, about this farce

"This deal is in the national interest,” said Green, hesitantly. The national interest as in the Conservative party’s interest. He tried repeating “national interest” but it didn’t sound any more convincing second time round, so he adopted another tack.

Think of it this way. The deal was just a happy coincidence. An alignment of stars. The Tory party had been looking to spend some more money on public services and the Maybot had realised that, though Northern Ireland had already been getting more than its fair share, it was probably due another £1bn top up just for the hell of it.

And if, as a result of the extra dosh, the DUP kept the Tories in government for a few weeks longer, then everyone was happy. Apart from the Scots, the Welsh and large parts of England.

Theresa May has faced a backlash from politicians in Scotland, Wales and parts of England after completing a £1bn deal with the Democratic Unionist party to prop up her Conservative minority government.

Political figures lined up on Monday to demand more money for their regions after Arlene Foster’s DUP agreed to a confidence and supply arrangement in return for the additional funding alongside relaxed spending rules relating to a further £500m previously committed.

Britain's Prime Minister Theresa May welcomes Democratic Unionist Party (DUP) leader Arlene Foster

Prime Minister Theresa May (Lady Clairol ?) forged a deal with a Northern Ireland party Monday that should give her struggling minority government enough votes to get her agenda endorsed, but at a high cost: more than 1 billion pounds in new funds for Northern Ireland and resentment from Britain's other regions.

The package includes 1 billion pounds ($1.27 billion) of new funding and 500 million pounds ($638 million) of previously announced funds to help Northern Ireland develop its infrastructure, health services and schools.

After weeks of secret backroom negotiations, the Tories have now signed a grubby deal with the DUP," Blackford said. "For years, the Tories have been cutting budgets and services, but suddenly they have found a magic money tree to help them stay in power."

(Ian Blackford, a leader of the Scottish National Party)

Queen Elizabeth went far beyond a mere squint and frown.

The Queen did not wear her crown during the speech for the first time in 43 years She wore a hat.

Due to May's snap election, the date for the State Opening of Parliament was set for only a few days after the Trooping the Colour ceremony on Saturday meaning there was not enough time for sufficient rehearsal if today were to go ahead as a usual grand presentation.

(Blue suit coat, yellow dress, blue hat with yellow stars, was what the Queen wore.)

Choosing to wear a blue and yellow hat for the occasion, Twitter was awash with suggestions that Her Majesty was paying a particularly sneaky tribute to the EU flag.

Throughout the election the Conservatives kept telling their opponents "There is no magic money tree." It looks like they have found out they were wrong. Not only have they found one but they have picked it clean in order to fund their "Coallition of Chaos."
