Rediscovering my Prefab Sprout addiction

Love's a silver bullet
That blows your world apart
I wanna be remembered as an outlaw
The boy who stole your heart
I wanna be the guy who wears the white hat
Then rides across the plain
I'm gonna be your enigmatic stranger
Honey, you are looking at your Shane

Cowboy dreams, cowboy dreams
You give me cowboy dreams
Cowboy dreams, you give me cowboy dreams

If ever you're in trouble,
if ever you are down
I'm gonna be the hanging judge and sheriff
I'm gonna ride your troubles out of town
You're looking at a mountain,
You're looking at the law
You're looking at a six-gun legend
Fastest on the draw

Lisa Hannigan's singing. I don't know what the song's title is.
But this line is like a kitten's claw, caught,
in the delicately knitted part of my mind.

"roll my heart up in my sleeve"

We lay my love and I,
beneath the weeping willow.
But now alone I lie and weep beside the tree, singing Oh Willow Waly by the tree that weeps with me,singing oh willow waly till my lover returns to me.
We lay my love and I beneath the weeping willow, but now alone I lie,Oh Willow I die,oh willow I die.

Libertine-Utopia

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LVKFyRBWXWk

When she walked in the room
You could faint from the strong perfume
And she said her name was libertine
In my ear, a voice said don't be a fool stay clear,
Better stay away from libertine

So I stayed out of view
But my eyes couldn't come unglued
I was hypnotized by libertine
So in time I broke down and I lost my mind
Then I made a move on libertine

And I waited all night
'til the timing was right
For another man was reaching for her hand
But he went to the phone
And when I got her alone
It just wasn't the same
Tell me what's in a name?

She made me drunk with her charms
Then she left on her husband's arm
And I got the shaft from libertine
I was weak and I know just from whence I speak,
Better stay away from libertine

Unemployment in this country is caused by pixies.

I don't mean the nice, ordinary ones that sit on toadstools, playing a whistle.

I'm talking about the nasty, evil, malevolent pixies.

The tiny green ones with the black pointy beards, that go around our factories -

we've all seen them - going around our factories casting the old wicked spells,

and bringing about mass redundancy to a scale,

not witnessed since the Great Depression.

Emily Barker & The Red Clay Halo- Nostalgia

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bNtZR8gR9aQ

Nostalgia...

Tram wires cross Melbourne skies
Cut my red heart in two
My knuckles bleed down Johnston street
On a door that shouldn’t be in front of me

Twelve thousand miles away from your smile
I’m twelve thousand miles away from me
Standing on the corner of Brunswick
Got the rain coming down and mascara on my cheek

Oh whisper me words in the shape of a bay
Shelter my love from the wind and the rain

Crow fly be my alibi
And return this fable on your wing
Take it far away to where gypsies play
Beneath metal stars by the bridge

Oh write me a beacon so I know the way
Guide my love through night and through day

Only the sunset knows my blind desire for the fleeting
Only the moon understands the beauty of love
When held by a hand like the aura of nostalgia

(some of the UK -ers keep all the good stuff to themselves)

Luckily, PBS lets us in on some of your secret treasures....

I went to the concert, but I just can't pass Alison Krauss and Robert Plant doing "Please Read the Letter"

Caught out running
With just a little too much to hide
Maybe baby
Everythings gonna turn out fine
Please read the letter
I nailed it to your door (some lyrics say mail, some say pinned...I choose nail.
It's crazy how it all turned out
We needed so much more

Once I stood beside a well of many words
My house was full of rings and
Charms and pretty birds
Please understand me,
My walls came falling down
There's nothing here that's left for you
But check with lost and found
Aaaaaaaaaah

Please read the letter that I wrote
Please read the letter that I wrote
Please read the letter that I wrote

One more song
Just before we go
Remember baby,
You gotta reap just what you sow
Please read my letter
And promise me you'll keep
The secrets and the memories
We cherish in the deep
Please read the letter
I nailed it to your door
It's crazy how it all turned out
We needed so much more

Please read the letter that I wrote
Please read the letter that I wrote
Please read the letter that I wrote

I am cranking Some Pink Floyd, I do not listen to it that often but I had a shit day and PF always makes me feel good, almost lke getting high without the weed, it is probably some kind of Pavlovian response.. All I know is that I have become comfortably numb...
