ah, the joy of the unknown ;)

lol

The brightness penetrates the room,
casting the shadows aside and into hiding.
The colors go from gray to vivid imagery
taunting the eye as a delectable splash,
picking up the curves, white skin, and gentle lines,
as beauty reveals herself naked and clean.
Glowing in the morning light, she captures my heart.

I saw this article and thought that sharing it would be a way to make the day seem just a little brighter.

Today in Washington DC same-sex couples can now apply for marriage licenses. They cant actually get married until the 9th but the applications are being taken. I'm young no doubt about it but i do hope to get married someday and this shows that it's not as far fetched an idea as it was once thought to be. I think it's a wonderful move for our nation's capitol and hopefully the rest of the country will be able to follow suit in the near future. Here's to hoping.

Did you submit this one to Lit V? I love the sixth line.

I commented about it on the orgasm thread.

I have homework, and of course an email to tend to  so I'm off, but come back later afore I sleep.

I like that, "afore" - it reminds me of one of my favourite words, "adore"
Yep, do your homework, email and what not before you get to read that I used that butt plug to adorn it with all sorts o' rings.

Lezli,
I am happy to learn that my words gave you encouragement. They are true you know. And good to know you had fun with floppy gluten free baking. I tried it too, mainly because I think gluten is unnecessary to bread and harder on the digestive system. The gluten free stuff, just like anything else related to dietary needs, is more $$ and then, kaflop!
Good luck, glad you liked that link.
Be safe and sound. Esp. yo' tummy!

Hey, how is your Mom going?

diz,
Glad to see you here.
I think lotsa life needs a break to breathe, so I am glad you got one to come on here, brief but not missed.

Take it easy.

Quote of the Day and tiny update

"No one can make you feel inferior without your consent."

- Eleanor Roosevelt, U.S. ambassador to the United Nations

I've always liked that one.

In other news, I still haven't been able to catch up on the thread. My apologies to all of you. It's not that I don't care, honest! Just really getting kicked around.

A couple weeks ago I got food poisoning that was so bad I had to be taken to the hospital via ambulance. I didn't even know you could get food poisoning that bad. Just got the bill for it today. Since I'm not a Canadian resident and don't have health insurance of my own, the bill for the ER and ambulance comes to nearly $1,200. Because we really needed that extra expense, right?

Still waiting on the last bit of paperwork before I can apply for the residency visa, too. They require a letter from the FBI, of all things, stating my fingerprints don't match any open cases or something like that. Which is weird, because Canada's going to run its own background check once they have my application. This is the reason I don't have healthy insurance yet, though. I can't apply for provincial until that application is in. And I can't work until the residency application has passed its first stage approval, which takes months after the thing is in.

Maybe both governments are out to get me. I don't know.

And I'd better get back to my taxes. My Federal e-file keeps getting rejected thanks to a glitch in TurboTax's online form, so I need to call them about that. Could seriously use that refund right about now.

Whining, whining, whining. Sorry. -.-

Oh! In other news, K and I finally know where we'll be moving for her grad school. She's going to go to the University of Alberta in Edmonton. We're both seriously psyched about that. Her family's all in Alberta and Saskatchewan, so we'll actually be able to drive to visit people, rather than needing airline tickets for everything, and my own family is about 24 hours away by car, too, which is relatively nice. Beats the hell out of having to drive through New Brunswick and Ontario. Nothing against those provinces, but you have to go so far out of your way to go around marshes and trees and stuff. It's maddening. And we'll be leaving this god awful humidity behind! No more rotting out our cars from the inside out.

And mountains! Oh thank god, mountains!

Anyway, we'll be in Nova Scotia through sometime in June (dog and house sitting from May until whenever the professor gets back from Morocco), so I'm hoping we'll be able to get some last-minute sight-seeing in before we have to move.

And... I should get going. We got a cart load of some seriously cheap apples at the farmer's market down the road. They're about half and half in quality, so the iffy ones are going in some homemade cider. So... time to start cutting up squishy apples. The rest are going in pie and apple crisp.

I love baking.

Well, hopefully I've learned my lesson. Just wish it weren't such an expensive one. :(

And a few hours away, but a heck of a lot closer than we are now! Man, being in the Atlantic time zone sucked so much during the Olympics. It's one hour later than Eastern, so nothing even started until 1:00 p.m. our time. So many late nights and exhausted mornings. And not even for good reasons!

Bit of prairie, bit of mountains. I'm looking forward to both far more than I thought I would. Hell, I'm even looking forward to some "real" winter again. Everyone here keeps warning me about the cold. As if -40 is all that rare in Minnesota.

What's new with you??

Just finished a very busy week and darn it another orchid followed me home.
I just hate it when that happens.:cattail: I am watering some of my plants I was neglecting. Feeling pretty good, feeling empowered with my thoughts right now, meaning feeling good and enjoying people, musing with some writing ideas. :) of course it being the weekend I have my son. It is lovely we enjoy each other so much. He always asks when he will see me again when I leave.:heart: He is a great kid. He is a nerd like his daddy/momma:cool:
