I decided against it, you know.

I have a scientist friend that has been using VPNs, but hopefully I've persuaded
him not to.

I decided not to try and hide my IP address or try to pull the wool.

I find it best just to behave myself and not do anything strange,
sometimes honesty really is the best policy, don't you find?

I have one installed on my other computer.

It comes in handy sometimes...

If you value your privacy and personal info, VPNs can be a good thing. Depends on who's providing them. I no longer try to figure it out. If you go public, telemarketers, con artists, and stalkers may come after you.

For one reason or another or for no reason, there's always someone fucking with your privacy and following you around the internet. Sometimes someone is simply hitching a free ride on the internet service you pay for.

The Opera browser has a built-in VPN. That's how I access LIT on Windoze laptop, and Android tablet and phone.

I'm told the Opera thing isn't an actual VPN, more like a proxy?

Tried it once but it was so slow I didn't bother after that.

My PC Tech, she says it's best not really to bother with VPNs, too much
hassle.

Got one for regional content gating. Don't bother with general anonymity.
