I've been out of the academic sphere for almost 20 years, so I don't really know.

When I was in college, a women's rights club started advertising "pocket choppers," which were miniature guillotines perfectly sized for a penis. (Of course, there were in fact no such devices.)

But the proto-broflakes (this was the 90s) on campus had a conniption, and tried to get the college to pull the club's funding.

My response was: so males also have a monopoly on tasteless, black humor? Sounds like the women's rights club kinda has a point.

Just like most Americans, my worldview is ossified to my college years.

So when someone says, "feminists are looking to override current Western societal structures with a even more oppressive regime," my knee-jerk reaction is skepticism.

Where are the neo-Marxist Anti-Patriarchy political action committees? Where are the intersectional terrorist attacks? Has anyone made an actual pocket chopper with a 3D printer and deployed it in the field, as it were?

I agree, feminists will never be able to enforce a more oppressive regime.
All they are going to achieve is ruining the civilization that gave them their autonomy.

Edit: Also if you're getting your panties in a twist, when you tuck wear 2 pairs with the inner pair about a size smaller than your hip measurement.

As I said way up this thread somewhere, I've engaged in enough debates about feminism on the GB to know there is utterly and absolutely no point in doing so. No one who says 'what is feminism?' or 'what do feminists want? really gives a flying fuck about the actual answers to these questions - they just want some engagement so they can go off on their utterly unsubstantiated one-eyed rants about what they 'KNOW' feminism 'REALLY IS'. It took me a while to work this out, but now I literally have better things to do. Like play Scrabble. Or eat ice cream. Or pay my rates. Or talk the cat. Or learn how to fold my clothes in some bizarre way that makes no sense to me whatsoever.
(Actually, not that last thing at all - I have no intention of folding my clothes differently, if it it means I can find the specific black t-shirt I'm looking for among all the other black t-shirts I own easier.)

But it makes so much more sense and you have so much more room and you can actually see the designs on your shirts and it's not bizarre, it's how it's done in retail because it's the most efficient way.
