swapping messages with someone on the internet a while ago, i introduced myself and he wrote back "onchaunte". i thought "what the hell?" and then it dawned on me: "enchante".

I have a friend who assumed the word ‘enchante’ meant ‘after you’ and would say it often when opening a door for someone (especially after meetings, showing clients out). He never realised why he was getting so many strange looks...
