Is it a cult ?

Not looking good, when members of your own political party say, yes, it is cult-like, cult-ish.

Still, worse, Republican political candidates are rejected for not being enthusiastic cult members.

The American cult once revolved around the flag, the Declaration of Independence, the Constitution ...

Cretins like Jeffrey Epstein serve shady masters. Compromise the asset however one can. It is astonishing that Obama stayed as true as he did. Bill Clinton, of course, accepted a luft on the Lolita Express, but Trump actually bore witness to the good character of a man involved in sex trafficking of children.

I am surprised that people have largely forgotten or have not heard of the Johnnie Gosch/ Papa Bush story.

Also culty: all women are his to grab or, worse, to task with publicly defending him. But far worse still, as if modeled on Putin, Trump spins the harm he does others (hundreds of tradesmen unpaid, raping his former wife, raping a 13-year old with his good buddy Jeff Epstein and cheating on his wife at every opportunity) as some sort of Stalin styled strength.

Also, the people sold on Trump are averse to evaluating their beliefs by examining new information. His voter base is thus incredibly
vulnerable to being misled enough that they will vote against their own interests.

On top of that, the multiple efforts of the Republican party to undermine what democracy remains by gerrymandering, striking people off the voters' register if they have not voted recently, and on top of that the orchestrated interference by Russia? The country is being held captive by a minority of voters who sing Trump's praises at the airport, filling their tambourines with tax free "charitable donations."

America needs counseling with someone specializing in abuse by a thoroughly enabled narcissist.

Well of course it's a cult. Anybody who still supports him is objectively not supporting him for policy reasons, they're in it for the feel-good personality cult.

He added hundreds of billions to the annual deficit this year alone and all the self-professed 'deficit hawks' in the Republican voter base who screamed in protest when Obama added a penny to the deficit, turned the other way and still pretend like it didn't happen.

He started a policy of forking over enormous government subsidies to the biggest manufacturing corporations in the country as an incentive to get them to keep their jobs in the country (as opposed to actually being tough on outsourcing), and when companies like Carrier took the money and still outsourced even more jobs than they had originally planned to, he turned around and hailed it as a victory.

Heck his own spending bill for 2018-2019 only contained a plan to build 33 miles of fencing across the border, he's completely uncommitted to building his biggest campaign promise; the wall!

He's done a U-Turn on major policy changes he proposed to make and his supporters just turn the other way, pretend it didn't happen, and stick their fingers in their ears shouting "lalalalalacanthearyou". They don't care about his actual policy and actions, they're hairbrained airheads who are so gullible and simple-minded that they became so enraptured by his strongman persona that he could personally murder every single puppy in the USA and they'd still cheer him on.

I do not for a moment, believe that sensible, clear thinking, practical, Republicans ever wanted to become members of a cult.

A cult is against everything they value.

"Our policy has been one of patience and restraint, as befits a peaceful and powerful nation, which leads a worldwide alliance. We have been determined not to be diverted from our central concerns by mere irritants and fanatics. But now further action is required--and it is under way; and these actions may only be the beginning. We will not prematurely or unnecessarily risk the costs of worldwide nuclear war in which even the fruits of victory would be ashes in our mouth--but neither will we shrink from that risk at any time it must be faced."

"If it’s a cult,” replied Donald Trump Jr., “it’s because they like what my father is doing."

June 14, 2018 9:50 am

Donald Jr. — coincidentally also a manifestly untalented heir to a maniacal authoritarian leader — was asked on the state-news program about the charge that the party has become a Trump cult. He did not exactly deny it. “If it’s a cult,” replied Trump, “it’s because they like what my father is doing."

"Well, yes, that’s how cults work. They start off by inculcating some sense of group loyalty, then they are taught to disregard any external source of information — and, say, instead get their news from a source that is working for the cult, like Fox News — and pretty soon, they have lost any capacity to make independent judgments. Eventually, they are praising the toughness of Kim Jong-un and treating Donald Trump Jr. as a respected and accomplished figure."

During an interview on Thursday’s edition of Fox & Friends, Donald Trump Jr. was asked to respond to comments Sen. Bob Corker (R-TN) made the day before about the “cult-like situation” that President Trump’s Republican Party has become.

Trump Jr. didn’t totally reject the characterization. Instead, after he was played a clip of Corker’s remarks, he said, “you know what, if it’s a cult, it’s because they like what my father is doing.”

“You see real Americans actually winning for a change,” Trump Jr. continued. “Conservatives actually getting things done.”

gsgs comment- Yes, Donald Trump Jr.'s father would not have been able to flip the USA into a state of insanity, if the GOP had stood up to Trump, and fought his rise to power. Every Republican politician that enabled Trump, every donor that filled the bank accounts, is to blame for all of the obscenities, grotesque realities, and inhuman occurrences in America, today.

Republicans once had a chance to be equal partners in America's future. The was once bipartisan connections, and friendship across the aisle. Now, the cult of Trump personality is shoving the GOP off a cliff./ end gsgs comment

On Wednesday evening, Republican Party chairwoman Ronna McDaniel stuck a vaguely threatening note when she tweeted that “Anyone that does not embrace the [Trump] agenda of making America great again will be making a mistake."

About that: it is McCarthyism served up as bagel bites. And again--no logic. It is absolutely a threat.

Tara Setmayer described supporters of President Donald Trump as members of a "cult."

"There's a large group of people who blindly follow what this man says, that don’t think for themselves,” Setmayer responded said. “He can get away with saying things on tape and then calling it fake news! That is a cult!”

"There's a large group, including a lot of members of Congress, who have completely sold their principles down the river."

Russia knows where the money is buried.

They have the financial dirt on everyone.

Putin is the Santa Claws, and he knows.

Why is Trump shouting about $400 million dollars in connection with Hillary Clinton ?

How much dirty Russian money has Trump been swimming in ? The Kremlin knows.

The NRA took Russian money, and nurtured Russian spy,

Have you been enjoying the last 24 hours of the mainstream media suddenly realizing there's a Russian intelligence asset in the White House, which is something we at Wonkette have known since October of 2016?

Anyway, check out this fucking Russian spy

Anyway, DOJ just found another Russian spy in its big "witch hunt." Her name is Maria Butina and she was arrested on Sunday, because the feds were pretty sure she was about to run. Now she is being held in federal custody without bond.

Remember a couple months back when Jane Mayer reported in The New Yorker about a Christopher Steele memo that alleged that Mitt Romney was originally Trump's first choice for secretary of State, but the Kremlin vetoed it? This line from the indictment will interest you:

Wonder if the Kremlin used any of Maria Butina's back channels to say FUCK NO ?

(I am almost certain the Kremlin said that "we do not want Rocky and Bullwinkle spoiling Mr. Big's evil plans!")

gsgs comment- Yes, yes the Kremlin said that they did not want Mitt Romney. Mitt Romney was too afraid of prison, to go as far as committing treason. Maria Butina and Aleksandr Torshin, the Natasha Fatale and Boris Badenov of their generation.

The cult decided long, ago, to pull down Old Glory's Stars and Stripes, in favor of flying Russia's White, Blue, and Red flag.

Trump was not hugging the American flag, he was pissing on it, with his flacid, impotent penis. The drug he takes to combat male-pattern baldness, has caused his erections to become events of the past. His last sexual adventure was in 2006.

(The end of sex scandals tied to Trump, but others inside Trump's cabinet, and tge Trump alliance, had cover-up problems. Who was sexing up the tall, pale, red-headed, long legged, Russian NRA poster girl ?)

Maria Butina founded a Russian "gun group" called the Right To Bear Arms, and that group organized and helped to fund a very strange trip where American NRA gun-humpers like disgraced former Sheriff David Clarke went to Moscow the same weekend as that RT gala where Michael Flynn and Jill Stein drank toasts to Vladimir Putin's sexxx body. The NRA delegation was there to meet with a Putin deputy named Dmitry Rogozin, who is a super-important part of the gun rights movement in Russia,

HAHAHA JUST KIDDING, THERE IS NO GUN RIGHTS MOVEMENT IN RUSSIA!

He does want the Russian Empire to rise again, though, to the point that he thinks Alaska should be returned to its rightful owner, which SURPRISE! is Russia.

After months of questions and speculation as to how or whether the NRA connection might have worked, prosecutors proffered an answer on Monday: The Russian woman, Maria Butina, was the intermediary between Russian government officials and Americans, both in the NRA and elsewhere in politics, according to court documents.

Butina is charged with failing to register under the Foreign Agents Registration Act, an allegation the Justice Department also has made against Donald Trump's former campaign chairman Paul Manafort.

The new court documents describe a series of messages she exchanged with other people discussing their work to try to advocate for Russia behind the scenes in Washington, D.C., as the 2016 political season wore on.

"...changed circumstances four years later prompted Torshin and Butina to conclude she should continue to lie low: "Only incognito!" she wrote, according to court documents. "Right now everything has to be quiet and careful."

John Bolton's Curious Appearance In A Russian Gun Rights Video

March 22, 20185

The episode, which has not been previously reported, illustrates the common cause that Russian and American gun rights groups were forming in the years leading up to the 2016 election through former National Rifle Association President David Keene. Keene appointed Bolton to the NRA's international affairs subcommittee in 2011.

It's a relationship that has outsize importance now that the FBI is reportedly investigating whether Torshin illegally funneled money to the NRA to assist the Trump campaign in 2016, as McClatchy reported in January. The NRA has denied wrongdoing.

@realDonaldTrump
I am pleased to announce that, effective 4/9/18, @AmbJohnBolton will be my new National Security Advisor. I am very thankful for the service of General H.R. McMaster who has done an outstanding job & will always remain my friend. There will be an official contact handover on 4/9.

6:26 PM - Mar 22, 2018

A source close to Bolton told NPR that he was originally asked to record the video by Keene, who served as NRA president from 2011 to 2013, and that he was informed the recording was for the Russian legislature. The source also said the former ambassador had never heard of The Right to Bear Arms until recent news coverage of the group.

Ah, here is some material on the $400 million dollars that Trump was shouting about-

A claim made with no evidence to back it up.

Bill Browder and his brothers were dragged into this nonsensical attack. Hillary Clinton pulled in $800 million, and it is very unlikely that they would have contributed half of the complete haul.

https://www.nytimes.com/2018/07/16/us/politics/fact-check-trump-putin-news-conference-.html

Why target Bill Browder and his brothers for abuse ? Bill Browder contributed to both parties. Which was normal, before the cult took over the Republican party.

I went to a Trump rally last night and mingled with the crowd. Here's what happened.

Even if you don't know much opera -- and I know I sure don't -- you'd know "Nessun dorma" from Act III of Puccini's Turandot if you heard it. Pavarotti basically blows you out the back wall with his pipes.

And as Trump always includes it in the set list, as he did tonight, I decide to plug its lyrics into Google translate.

Set, stars! Set, stars!
At dawn, I will win!
I will win!
I will win!

I can see maybe why Trump likes it.

Tonight, as they play it, an aide installs the presidential seal onto the podium, to great applause.

And when it's quickly followed by The Beatles' "Revolution 9," the crowd goes from befuddled to energized.
