If you're talking about all the places removing his content then I'd have to say I disagree with them. It's their choice but I personally don't feel it's right to silence someone just because you don't like what they have to say.

But was it about some truly violent content on his part,

As much as I started to dislike Trump lately,
I often worried that the 'Russia investigation' might open a can of worms:
Remember when Twitter founders had to testify before Congress for hosting those Russian bots who interfered in elections? What if other internet companies start worrying about being held responsible for hosting stuff that can be -subjectively- seen as subversive?
I would rather see organizations like KKK, neoNazi groups censored as well as internet bullies like in the case of Amanada Todd, instead.

I always thought he was a kook. But this unprecedented coordinated shut down makes me think he actually got something right last week. No idea what. I don't understand why lefties are cheering this. Isn't it obvious that someone you like can be next?
While the Alex Jones banning is less controversoal (he is a racist who incited violence after all), the following isn't:
Ron Paul claimed that American social media have started to censor moderate conservative voices.
Apparently the director of the Ron Paul institute and several libertarians were banned on Twitter, the day after Facebook blocked several other conservative accounts. They claimed that "hate speech" was the cause but it wasn't, as per the screenshots provided.
I don't understand the logic of allowing hate groups like KKK and White Supremacy to spew all that hatred and incite violence -- in the name of Constitution and freedom of speech,
Yet moderate conservatives are being banned on social media, -- in the name of prohibiting hate speech. Even if those are 'private organizations'.

Censorship is not when a privately owned internet platform enforces its TOS. Censorship is when the government prevents its citizens from expressing their opinions, from practicing their religion and from protesting to highlight their disagreement with the different governing authorities.
A little like when a president tweets that a citizen, who is using his constitutional right to protest against unjustified police killings, should lose his job.

In theory and on paper, you're right. But we all know that the giant Social Media platforms aren't 100% independent in practice, don't we? Not only that they wouldn't have developed without the State's support, but they partially depend on favorable State policies for their continued existence.
There are two separate issues going on here:
With all the divide and hatred boiling towards crisis point, Social Media decided to no longer allow online bullying (be it in the form of inciting racial hatred, or Alex Jones or Amanda Todd type attacks). Few would disagree with these moves.
But in a separate parallel trend, people like Ron Paul claim that the accounts of several moderate conservative were banned for ulterior reasons. Particularly Ron Paul Institute's ANTI-WAR branch executive.
Could be what Ron Paul suggested , or a simple SocialMedia paranoia in the aftermath of the RussiaGate scandal. Twitter executives Did have to testify in Congress after all, for unknowingly hosting Russian bots.
Or who knows...
