Oh, gosh. That's tough. OK, one that comes to mind.
I was maybe 10. Racing a sailboat with my parents in an evening series.
I think it was the last race of the series and we needed to finish well to get the first place trophy for the season. I remember we worked really hard, kept the boat moving, it was a slow night but not horrible (as it can be). We came across the finish, pretty far ahead of our competition and the sun was setting. High fives all around.
What I remember most was my Dad (and Mom) treating me as a member of the crew. I was their son out there, I was a team member.

Do you have a good coming of age story that you can share?
