Maybe he had one last growth spurt just about the time he hit 18. Why, oh WHY couldn't that have happened to me when I was young? When I was young, the sex symbols were all older guys. As soon as I got to be their age, boybands got popular and overnight it seemed like the shift went to younger men.

Why not? Many boys are shy and have hard times talking to girls, let alone going for sex, and being hung is not a guarantee to be successful with girls. I'm sure you know some girls with big tits or big ass who freeze when they try to talk to the opposite sex. Yes it is... Consider if he's been viewed by neighborhood women (& the aforementioned BJ), but he is shy far as he knows, so isn't approaching (m)any of them.

I have a little to add. My mom ask that I be a prom date for the fat nerd neighbor kid even though I was a sophomore in college.
