Welcome to the 3rd Annual Fighting Blue Jays thread!!!! Although it's not quite July yet, I have had many requests PM'd and Txt'd to me to get this thread going.

So here's the schedule for YOUR Fighting Blue Jays:

09/01/12 vs. Randolph Macon
09/08/12 at Susquehanna
09/15/12 vs. Moravian
09/22/12 at Muhlenberg
09/29/12 vs. Juniata
10/13/12 at Dickinson
10/19/12 vs. Gettysburg
10/27/12 at Ursinus
11/03/12 at Franklin & Marshall
11/10/12 vs. McDaniel

And don't forget,

Under the guidance of head coach Jim Margraff, Johns Hopkins posted a 10-1 record, won its third straight Centennial Conference title and finished the season ranked 19th in the AFCA Division III Poll in 2011. The Centennial title was the seventh for Johns Hopkins since 2002, while the Blue Jays made their third trip to the NCAA Playoffs since 2005.

Johns Hopkins will carry a 14-game regular season winning streak into the 2012 season and will open the season at home for the first time since 2008 when Randolph-Macon visits Homewood Field on Saturday, September 1.

September 1st - Randolph-Macon at Homewood Field; be there or be a square.

What sport for those of us that don't follow D III sports or Hopkins?

Hopkins football coach: It doesn't take a rocket scientist to know...

Hopkins football player: Errr..., ahhh..., umm— actually, I am studying to be a rocket scientist...

This is ridiculous; lacrosse is one thing— winning is expected. But Hopkins with winning football and baseball teams ? What's going on ? Are they recruiting and redshirting and offering courses in basket-weaving and all that D-1 nonsense ?

Skyboxes at Homewood ? WTF ?

I don't suppose there's much chance that NFL scouts or ticket scalpers will be scarfing up any available seats.

I don't know. I was in the hospital most of August and haven't felt like driving up there so far this year.

Johns Hopkins' game next week against Mount Union will be the first-ever meeting between the two teams and mark the first time a Blue Jay football team has ever played the top-ranked team in the nation. Hopkins has twice played a team ranked third in the nation as the Blue Jays played then third-ranked and eventual national finalist Bridgewater in 2001 and then third-ranked Wesley in the 2009 NCAA Quarterfinals.

No. 4 Johns Hopkins Uses Q3 Surge to Run by Siena in Opener

BALTIMORE, MD – Fourth-ranked Johns Hopkins scored four goals in a span of less than three minutes midway through the third quarter to break open a close game, and the Blue Jays went on to a 15-6 victory against Siena in the season-opener for both teams at Homewood Field Friday evening...

02/08 Siena (0-1)
02/16 at Towson (0-1)
02/23 Michigan (0-1)
03/01 Princeton (0-0)
03/05 Mount St. Mary's (0-0)
03/08 UMBC (0-0)
03/16 at Syracuse (0-0)
03/23 vs Virginia # (0-0)
03/30 at North Carolina (1-0)
04/05 Albany (0-0)
04/13 at Maryland (0-0)
04/20 Navy (1-0)
04/27 Loyola (0-0)
05/03 at Army (0-1)

The NCAA record held by Johns Hopkins for consecutive appearances in NCAA tournaments likely reached its peak last year.

The Blue Jays have appeared in 41 consecutive NCAA lacrosse championships— a streak that is the longest in all Division I NCAA sports. Now ranked 18th, a tournament bid appears unlikely following a must-win loss to last year's NCAA champion, Loyola.

Fat lady is just about to sing for the Jays...Incredibly inept 2nd half offense costs Jays in 8-4 loss, with a 29-minute scoreless streak to end the game. 41-year NCAA streak apparently finished...
