How to Set Up a Poll?

I'm not sure how to include a poll as part of posting a new thread. When creating a new thread, I see the box where I can check off that I'm including a poll, and even a drop-down with how many answer options I'm including, but nothing to proceed beyond that. Can anyone help?

Once you submit the post with the checkbox checked the system will ask you for your different answers to your question. The poll will then be available for the users.
