Like someone else mentioned, it's a win-win situation. A Canadian team wins the NBA championship, and doesn't have to worry about being invited to the Trump White House!

Just sayin'.

Having grown up in the Bay Area and suffering through decades of bad basketball, I was rooting for the Warriors BUT: The Warriors have already been there, done that. I could almost feel the joy of an entire country celebrating their team winning a championship, having never won an NBA championship- because I remember what that was like just a few years ago. The Raptors are a class act and I have mad respect for them as a team and as individual players. So in a way I am not sad that the Warriors lost- I genuinely am glad for the Raptors.

When the Warriors lost Durant again, after only half of game 5, that was a game changer, but then when Thompson went down, that was pretty much it- there was no way they were going to overcome that. Even if Curry's last second shot had fallen and given them another one-point win, there was no conceivable way a team that short handed would have won a game 7 on the road.

McDonald's is readily available in Canada, there's no need to accept this kind of invitation.
