Writing Goal for the Day?

A plot bunny woke me up around midnight.

The damned thing would not let me be until I got up and wrote about 3000 words.

I do have to admit, this is the second time this bunny has bothered me. I fought him/her off the first time but this time....

Dear Reader

All TEXs bunnies burrow in his MAD DOG 20/20 bottle.

What is with you and MD 20/20? Are you lost in the 70's with no way out? Poor fella, why don't you go write something?

Oh yeah, you're the guy who doesn't write for Lit. It's beneath him.

Right,,,,

Dear Reader

TEX is LITs Special Olympics editor

Got a story for an anthology written yesterday; writing another one today. Then I'll be one shy of the targeted twenty.

I've been going all in on a bdsm novel I hope to be finished with by mid March. I have not submitted anything to Lit since my V-day entry three weeks ago, and am thinking of taking five from the novel and working on an incest plot bunny.

I'll decide tomorrow when hopefully I have part two of the novel completed.

As always, various goals but little time to work on them, and lack of energy from my cold isn't helping matters. This slump has got to end, right?

They always do, dear Lady P. Hang in there, get some rest, and don't worry about it. *hugs*

Thanks, A. :) The whole rest thing is tough (I have two kids), and Mr Penn thinks he may be getting sick (not surprising), so that would cut into any rest time. But we'll manage.

Another 3500 words on the plot bunny from last night plus another 3000 words across three other stories.

Much better than I expected this morning.

After struggling to tame a couple wild plot bunnies for another BDSM submission - I realized I was punishing myself. Sometimes, the best idea for a story is to toss it into the pile of unfinished works and let it stew. Meanwhile, I just submitted what I hope to be a very different kind of BDSM story. Now the wait begins for approval.

I'm trying the same thing with a sci/fi piece. It should be out tomorrow, I hope.

Stewed plot bunnies! A lunch for writers. :D

Today I try to make order out of my home office--and let another story idea germinate.

Second chapter of my Lez story is well under way and making notes on my Fetish story as they come to me. I haven't written in Fetish yet, but this one is coming together nicely. I'm looking forward to the feedback once it's posted.

I'm stalled on BotC, deciding how to get the sequence of events right. It's not blending properly and I have to figure what's out of place with it. I think it's all in the movement of people. Doing it for three or four is easy enough, but a thousand on horse and foot tends to get confusing, especially when they're all clashing with swords and axes. A good battle scene is like a good sex scene, in that it has to be choreographed right, with movement and emotion.

Still, writing sex is fun and a good diversion. :D

Trying to brainstorm with my beta reader on how to finish R&B, but have other things that need doing. Perhaps if I can get some of those done, other things will fall into place.

In the safety of my favorite Starbucks. Today I can be a writer, not just a nerd who writes to keep his sanity, or..a Computer Documentation Specialist writing fiction to keep his mental acuity.

What am I going to write, who knows? Maybe work on one of the hundreds of short story starts I have in the netbook, might work on plot outlines...

Oh, lordy, in cleaning up around my desk, I've found two pages for notes for a story that I can't remember whether I wrote up or not--and can't grasp the storyline from the notes--it's all background information, names of people and places and linkups. This happened to anyone else?

Nope. I always write down the plot line and any ideas on where I want to take it. What you have, is a paper with a phone number without a name on it.

Yes. Just toss it into the stewed plot bunnies pot and let it simmer, it will come back to you later :)

7400 words into the second chapter and the plot twist is sprung and I'm ready to finish it up and start the third chapter. I love how these two characters are playing off each other, I think they'll come across well as a couple.

Double damn. In cleaning up my office I've come up with yet another notebook page with extensive background notes for a story that doesn't include even a basic plotline--and, again, I don't know if I've written the story up or not. (I have an extensive file of written but not reviewed or edited yet stories.) Note to self: include some form of plotline when you do this, dummy.

I work backwards to you. I start with my plotline and any twists and turns I think will work. I develop characters later to fit the story and notes on their characteristics and traits. Once I have those basic elements, the story is easy to shape into a work in progress, where I can adjust and change on the fly.

My notes aren't a determination of the order in which I work. I start with the plotline too--and then do whatever background research is necessary to serve that plotline. My problem is that I have a couple of instances where I have the background notes in hand but I didn't note the plotline that they serve.

I write off of vision or an image that gets into my head. I expand the image into who are they and how did they get there.

Most often I start with barely more than what I want it to be and it seems to tell itself.
