Unlike what happened with Cambridge Analytica who hired a professor, who hired a bunch of people using Amazon's Mechanical Turk to gather data for said professor via an app, the professor then turned this data over to Cambridge.
This was all known back in 2015. Here's the guy who is claiming to be behind it all. It's pretty important to know Cambridge is owned by Robert Mercer, aka Bannon's sugar daddy.
