and she's right, it dosn't work on vampires. I know. I have a lvl 20 character who's taken a vow of poverty, a vow of non-violence, a vow of peace and I'm sure some other vow I can't recall. I'm not allowed to own any worldly possessions, in-cluding weaponry or armor, and I'm also not allowed to deal damage other than subdual to anything living. I can turn undead like...holy cow, but I can't even squish a fly or all of my everything goes down.
People would have a hard time hitting me though. My AC is like, 30 summin and because of my vow of peace I radiate an aura of peace so anyone within 20 or so feet of me just...feels disinclined to fight.
