Fox "news" Cannot Be Trusted

Says the CNN/MSN/DNC bot....

:D Next week it'll be something else.

Also, CF seems to have choked on her, uhm, water in a coffee cup. Maybe too much sugar and cream. Maybe not enough Irish Coffee in the shot glass.

Oh well, back to ABC until something better cums along.

Let me try to explain it to you the same way I’ve had to do for other “faux”ers I know IRL.

Imagine you have a room full of 22 people and they are being observed by a large auditorium of spectators. The spectators only have the ability to really pay attention to a small handful of these people in the room so the people in the room need to inform and engage the spectators with what is going on outside this auditorium. Most are pointing at the window and talking about what it obvious to see but ONE of them is screaming and pointing and shouting as loud as they can about how the sky is really not blue like the other 21 people attest it to be, but that it’s actually some other color. Now, the other 21 people try to ignore the 1 shouting person who is obviously wrong and playing up to the people watching the entire debacle, trying to get their attention with volume and sensationalism instead of just the facts. They might deny the shouter and say it’s really blue and to ignore him, they might point out is azure, even the most scientific of them might say the sky has no color and it is merely the bending of light around the atmosphere. But it doesn’t matter, because there is still 1 out of 22 who is saying something counter to what everyone else is reporting to the masses watching, relying on histrionics and pandering to get attention. And they get pissed that no one else is agreeing with them.

Fox is the 1 lunatic screaming in the room full of other broadcasters. If 21 people say the sky is blue and 1 is screaming it isn’t – smart people don’t feed the trolls and pay attention to the lunatic. The sky is blue – stop being a douche.

My 2 cents

What smart people do is look out the window and see for themselves.

Ahem. Hi. My name is ThatsTheGuy. Pleased to meet you.

This might interest you. https://www.alternet.org/news-amp-politics/message-alternets-board-directors

Please note the little tidbit about Fox News and Sean Hannity. But yes, I see your point. Thank you.

Hannity, Bolling and Rove were all paid propagandists for Fox “news”. They ignored Bush’s negligence and incompetence and declared that somehow Bush was a great leader who made great strides in getting Osama bin Laden, when in point of fact, Bush abandoned the hunt for bin Laden years before Barack Obama had even been sworn into office.

Over and over again, we see Fox news covering up for the incompetence, negligence and ineffectiveness of Republicans, while making up stories to defame, demonize and delegitimize Democrats.

These people engage in fiction, rumor-mongering, propaganda and deliberately leading millions of Americans to erroneous conclusions. Why are they allowed to continue calling themselves a NEWS channel?

Tucker Carlson of Fox news says white nationalism is a hoax.

You've got to love those Republicans! Global warming is a hoax, Russia is a hoax, white nationalism is a hoax!

But, Hillary Clinton running a pedophile ring out of the basement of a pizza parlor? Completely true!

Perhaps.....

And yet I encounter people EVERY DAMN DAY who insist that Fox is a legitimate news channel!

Fox News is as legitimate a news source as CNN, MSNBC and every other news source. Since other sources confirm your biases they are "legitimate' and Fix News isn't. At least Hannity and Tucker tell you they are opinion based shows, so you can take what they say with a grain of salt. Maddow, Lemon and Cuomo try to convince you they aren't opinion based talk show hosts, but they are just as full of shit as Hannity and Tucker.

Let us take a few minutes to discuss Fox news Channel and examine some of the reasons why they can’t be trusted.

There are many different approaches we could take to examine their untrustworthiness, but for this particular discussion we will examine their coverage of the infamous Osama bin Laden.

Back in the 1990’s President Bill Clinton was trying to sound the alarm about al Qaeda and Osama bin Laden, but all Fox news Channel could focus on was Monica Lewinsky and Bill Clinton’s penis. They even asserted that the August 1998 missile strikes he ordered against al Qaeda training camps in Sudan and Afghanistan were an effort to distract media attention away from Bill Clinton’s penis.

Sean Hannity criticized Clinton in 1998 for launching missile strikes against Al Qaeda camps in Afghanistan, which only narrowly missed killing Bin Laden. Hannity suggested that the timing of the strikes was due to "political motivation" and meant to be a distraction from the Monica Lewinsky scandal.

Hannity insisted that Osama bin Laden wasn’t really a threat and that missile strikes against Osama bin Laden were just “wagging the dog.”

Republican Congressman Bob Barr went onto Fox “news” Channel and claimed that the 1998 missile strikes against al Qaeda were “an effort to divert some attention.”

That; of course; was BEFORE the September 11th terrorist attacks, AFTER the September 11th terrorist attacks, the talking heads at Fox news Channel were all accusing Bill Clinton of IGNORING al Qaeda!

Apparently thousands of dead Americans in a major American city, made it hard for Sean Hannity and other paid propagandists at Fox to continue claiming that Bill Clinton’s attempts to kill Osama bin Laden and roll back al Qaeda training camps was “wagging the dog”, so they attempted to rewrite history and claim that Bill Clinton NEVER tried to kill Osama bin Laden and that he NEVER did anything about al Qaeda training camps!

Sean Hannity (who had attacked Bill Clinton for launching missile strikes against al Qaeda camps in Afghanistan back in the 1990’s) tried to blame the 9/11 Terrorist Attacks on Bill Clinton, rather than George W. Bush, making it sound like Bill Clinton had somehow been ignoring Osama bin Laden during his eight years in office.

You see, the truth doesn’t matter to men like Sean Hannity. Sean Hannity is not a journalist. Sean Hannity is a trained attack dog that engages in dishonest assaults against Democrats as standard operating procedure. His job isn’t to report the news. His job is to spread rumor, innuendo and right-wing talking points, in an attempt to delegitimize Democratic leaders.

Hannity and his accomplices even dreamed up a story where the nation of Sudan offered up Osama bin Laden “on a silver platter” if America would simply remove economic sanctions against Sudan.

There has never been any evidence that the nation of Sudan ever made such an offer, and the story has been debunked many times, however Hannity continues to repeat this childish story.

When George W. Bush was in the White House, the stories Fox news told was just as revealing as the stories that they covered up.

An investigative journalist by the name of Greg Palast published an FBI memo that confirmed that the FBI was given orders to lay off the bin Laden family and other Saudi terror suspects during the early months of George W. Bush's rule.

Without these orders to halt investigations, the 9/11 terrorist attacks might have been averted.

Palast published this memo back in 2001, but Fox “news” Channel refused to report on this in any of their “news” broadcasts.

If Fox “news” had reported on this, it would have hurt the reputation of a Republican president, and Fox never does anything that would harm a Republican president. They only do things that will harm Democrats.

When Bush refused to testify under oath before the 9/11 Commission, refused to testify in public and refused to testify without Dick Cheney being there to help him, Fox “news” refused to point out the fact that they were obstructing the commission’s ability to get at the truth.

The executive director of the 9/11 Commission (Philip Zelikow), had conflicts of interest and as such should never have been in charge of the investigation. Zelikow had close ties with the White House and that he tried to influence the final report in ways that the staff often perceived as limiting the Bush administration’s responsibility and furthering its anti-Iraq agenda. This was very relevant news that the American public should have known about, but Fox “news” covered it up.

Zelikow also stopped the Commission staff from submitting a report depicting Rice's and Bush's performance as "amounting to incompetence or something not far from it", but you would never learn about that if you got all of your news from Fox.

The Bush White House attempted to stonewall the creation of the commission and to hamstring its work from the outset. When Bush terrorism "czar" Richard Clarke could no longer be prevented from testifying about his urgent warnings over the summer of 2001 to Rice about the imminent threat of terrorist attack on US soil, White House counsel Alberto Gonzales and his aides feverishly drafted tough questions and phoned them in to Republican commissioners to undermine Clarke's credibility."

Initially Bush refused to establish a 9/11 Commission at all. When the pressure and the demands became too great he eventually authorized the creation of one, however, he imposed a very short deadline on them and he made certain that they had insufficient funds (3 million dollars).

Fox “news” never called Bush out for the way that he hamstrung the 9/11 Commission and they tried to make the case that the Republicans were the only political party that could keep America safe.

In 2002, George W. Bush dismissed Osama bin Laden as unimportant, saying that he “didn’t know” where Osama bin Laden was and that he was “truly am not that concerned about him”.

George W. Bush never brought Osama bin Laden to justice and in 2006, Bush shut down the intelligence unit that had been tasked with hunting Osama bin Laden and his top lieutenants since 1996.

The unit, known as Alec Station, had been formed back in 1996, before Osama bin Laden became a household name, back when Bill Clinton was president, and the threats posed by Osama bin Laden were taken seriously.

This should have been HUGE news, but the talking heads at Fox didn’t think that this story was important enough to pay attention to. Bush basically abandoned the hunt for Osama bin Laden, and the paid propagandists at Fox acted as if this wasn’t newsworthy.

However, the story doesn’t end there.

Barack Obama didn’t follow Bush’s example of abandoning the hunt for Osama bin Laden. President Obama authorized America’s intelligence agencies to track down Osama bin Laden’s location and eventually they were able to locate him in a compound in Pakistan.

President Obama chaired a number of National Security Council meetings to discuss an operation to raid bin Laden's compound in an effort to either kill or capture bin Laden. And in 2011, President Obama greenlit the raid that hit Osama bin Laden’s compound and killed Osama bin Laden without the loss of a single American life.

This was HUGE news, and all over the world news outlets celebrated President Obama’s success, however Fox “news” was reluctant to give President Obama credit.

Sean Hannity declared that there was “no way this would have happened, but for the policies of George W. Bush”.

Eric Bolling declared that we should "Thank GWB For This Not BHO!"

Karl Rove declared that “"Important Policy Decisions Made Under Bush" Made Bin Laden's Death Possible.”

Will you STFU! I'm watching fox news.

Lame Stream Media aka alphabet news is 95% negative on Trump and all republican Presidents all the time. Trump said "ENOUGH"! Fight fire with fire and the left can't handle being called out for what they are - fake news. They treated the community organizer like the next coming of Christ.

They can all go bite the big one. I will never watch alphabet news again and neither will my friends. Thank CNN for that. What garbage they report or make stuff up on.

I'll take Fox News any day of the week. They report BOTH sides.

Sorry you don't agree with fair news reporting. I hope they get what they deserve - just like the fake impeachment joke.

What a bunch of whiney losers.

Fox News is a “destructive propaganda machine” whose right-wing hosts “don’t really have rules” and push “a political agenda” over “facts.” The network is “assaulting our constitutional order and the rule of law,” “fostering corrosive and unjustified paranoia among viewers,” and “wittingly harming our system of government for profit” while producing “birther-like coverage” that “feels like an extension of the Trump White House.”

That’s what current and former Fox employees have said since Donald Trump was elected president and his administration and the network effectively merged.

Big names like Shepard Smith and Chris Wallace have sought to hold space at Fox for more responsible reporting while publicly criticizing their more conspiracy-minded colleagues. Less prominent staffers keep quiet publicly but anonymously denounce the network and its biggest stars to other news outlets. And a handful have quit after years or even decades at the network, condemning Fox as they left.

Carl Cameron, Fox’s former chief political correspondent, is a member of that last group. One of Fox’s first employees, Cameron spent more than two decades reporting from the political campaign trail before retiring from the network in August 2017.

Cameron told CNN’s Brian Stelter that he had left in part because “the opinion hosts in prime time and elsewhere on Fox had become more than I could stand.”

“I have no objection to opinion hosts,” he added, “but I do believe that it’s important that the information be accurate, fact-based, verifiable, and information that helps as opposed to hurt people in their effort to make a good decision when it comes to our politics.” He later said that the access some Fox hosts have to Trump “is questionable, if not dangerous,” adding that they “need to be understood as allied” with the president.

Wake up! All the other "fake news" agencies don't hold a candle to Fox News #1 position in ratings. Is it because most Americans are stupid or that the other news agencies have an agenda and left their journalism degree at the door? CNN has been caught lying so many times it's a joke. Why is it every Republican president is negatively reported on and every democrat is positive? Any idea?
Get a clue.

Fox "news" is a hate-for-profit racket that gives a megaphone to racists and conspiracy theorists.

It’s designed to turn us against each other, risking life and death consequences, to provide cover for the corruption that’s rotting our government and hollowing out our middle class. Fox balances a mix of bigotry, racism, and outright lies with just barely enough legit journalism to make the claim to advertisers that it’s a reputable news outlet.

Yeah right. Just like Russian Collusion was a fact - for 2 1/2 years jammed down our throats. Schiff - I have evidence! Just like the whistle blower - he will testify!

Wow, you are gullible.

You see, the truth doesn’t matter to men like Sean Hannity. Sean Hannity is not a journalist.

Correct Sean Hannity is a person who aims his "opinion" at right leaning listeners.
He makes his money by garnering a large viewership to increase his advertising revenue. More ad revenue, more money in his pocket.

The same can be said about Carlson, Cumo, and Lemon, I forget the rest, basically all the night time programming on Fox and CNN. They tailor there "shows" to their audience. Now where the difference lies between these opinion shows diverges, in how far they will ( ALL these nighttime hosts) distort the days news towards their night time viewers enjoyment. Everyone loves their views to be the "right" views.

I don't watch TV, don't even have a cable, off air, or satellite connection to TV. Have not since 1988. TV is a complete waste of time, a time burger I don't need in my life.

My few brushes with TV come when, for work purposes I am out of town, and stuck in a hotel room.

It is at that point where I will spend a few hours watching Fox and or CNN, unless I can find something on the other 50-100 channels of garbage. ( most cases not, but once in while I find a show). From my experience, Fox seems to be the most off the mark. Keep in mind while I do not watch TV, I do read/listen to radio, and get news off the internet. My main news sources are CBC,BBC and NPR for radio. For newspapers, from The Chronical Journal to the Wall Street Journal, and lots in between. For online I have several news feeds such as apple etc. Of the radio broadcasts of cable it's quite a mix, even including Patriot and POTUS as well. So when I say Fox is the most distorted at night, it is based on what I have seen and heard from a wide variety ( even Fox news , I do miss Shep from Fox) of sources.

For those who live and die by Fox, I say it's your loss, for those who live and die by CNN I say, it's your loss. For anyone who doesn't make the effort to source out all the reporting on any one topic, and then make an informed decision on what the news really is, I say, It's your loss.

For the many who do though, I say, it's tough sorting out the fact from the spin, but once you have, it's nice to own your thoughts on the news isnt it?

leading millions of Americans to erroneous conclusions. Why are they allowed to continue calling themselves a NEWS channel?

For shits n giggles I did a google search "Fox news lies" and "CNN lies"

Sorry, CNN is not as far to the left as Fox News is to the Right. If you believe so, you're already in the clutches of rightist propaganda. Objective reviewers have charts that show that. You can find them yourself if you really want to work toward being objective.

How many news outlets do we have now? How many tilt left or unabashedly left?

Except for Rachel Maddow's show, none really. Just because you don't like what you hear on those other channels doesn't mean they're biased.

Why does a single news outlet bother you and all the lefties so much?

Because it instills not only disinformation but outright paranoia in its viewers. There's nothing wrong with expressing opinions, but there is a difference between that and outright propaganda. The media has a responsibility to report the truth, and Fox News has made a mockery of that.

On a related note, every time someone says Fox News is the only network that "presents both sides," I have to wonder where they're seeing the left or even the centre being presented there. To me, it's a bit like saying the Harlem Globetrotters always had an opposing team.

REALLY?????

How the Left Enables Hatred Against Trump Supporters
By ongoingly demonizing the president and dehumanizing any American who backs him, the left is declaring open season on Trump supporters. How many more videos of Trump supporters being beaten up and assaulted have to appear online? Democrats know what they’re setting into motion and they simply don’t care.

At this time, there’s a media blackout involving the beating of this 14-year-old, but if multiple Trump supporters jumped a student who wore an Obama hat or shirt, the press would have a field day. The story would be all over CNN, MSNBC, ABC, and all the other liberal outlets.

However, as the story gains traction, especially in prominent right-wing circles, it’s likely that additional outlets will have to cover it at one point or another.

I am not sure if this is aimed at me, since your post followed mine. If you read my post I do not state where either network CNN or Fox are on the political spectrum. What I said was, they Fox and CNN, like all broadcast media, aim, or tailor, or in the case of Fox out right invent News story's aimed at their target audience. Period.

I go on to suggest if you only get your News solely from either, then you should rethink that strategy, since in my opinion you are not getting the whole picture.
