What happened to the American Dream?

It came true.

You're looking at it. :)

What, an overweight, repressed gay man posing as a butch, politically disenfranchised lesbian? Your lack of clarity and downright nasty demeanor causes minds to wonder to some really disturbing places! I'd recommend going to see somebody but even a shrink would probably drop you!

Huh? Who the hell are you? :)

It’s simple....

Corporate greed eliminated the ability to sustain and grow the middle class.

Go deeper.

People who believe that morality is relative are the problem.

There are objective moral realities. For example; torturing babies is wrong.

In an amoral society nothing can be sustained or grown.

Indeed...and it's fuckin' awesome. :D

Corporate greed eliminated the ability to sustain and grow the middle class.

No it didn't.

The only thing needed to sustain and grow the middle class is to let them do so for themselves and the only entity with the authority to deny them that is the government.

We SWAT team lemonade stands, lawn boys, shade tree mechanics, family farms and little kids for hustling water or candy bars without a small fortune worth of permits and licensing. It's not Wal Mart, Mc D's or Amazon who are raiding people for trying to earn a living for themselves without paying for permission, it's the government.

I dunno, ask the 1%, for the rest of you it's a nightmare.

The idea that living in the US is a nightmare for the 99% is fuckin' absurd.

The middle class has been continually squeezed since the 1980s.....we've morphed into a binary society of "haves" and "have nots".

According to what lunatic leftist propaganda rag???

Or is this just another one of you fantasies where you pretend losers like yourself are a significant portion of the population? The highest estimates put 14% below the poverty line....you're in the minority Rob. ;)

If you give up on the American dream then you can't complain about not achieving it.

According to the American census board:
Recent census data shows that half the population qualifies as poor or low income,[14] with one in five Millennials living in poverty.[15] Academic contributors to The Routledge Handbook of Poverty in the United States postulate that new and extreme forms of poverty have emerged in the U.S. as a result of neoliberal structural adjustment policies and globalization, which have rendered economically marginalized communities as destitute "surplus populations" in need of control and punishment.[16]

In 2011, child poverty reached record high levels, with 16.7 million children living in food insecure households, about 35% more than 2007 levels.[17] A 2013 UNICEF report ranked the U.S. as having the second highest relative child poverty rates in the developed world.[18] According to a 2016 study by the Urban Institute, teenagers in low income communities are often forced to join gangs, save school lunches, sell drugs or exchange sexual favors because they cannot afford food.[19]

None of that makes the US a binary nation of haves and have nots.

I'm guessing you can't even start to take a shot at answering for your previous post either by explaining what's so absurd about the concept of the American Dream?
