Saying something outright immediately after the magilla just to potentially get the gossip wolves off your back is bad form, though. Because they won't go away that easily. Right now, at least 3/4 of the world is waiting for more dope on what happened simply because there's nothing else going on to talk about and it's not like he shot somebody while dusted on coke. It's been a couple days and it's starting to look bad with him not talking to the cops. I agree with not doing it immediately but it's time now or things will just get worse. Plus the cops are going to start getting pissed. Follow the Letterman example and get it out there before anyone else.

Of course, it all depends on what the truth really is. We already know it is a minor accident, and it may even be a minor accident caused by a marital spat which is none of our business. If that is the case, then this will die a natural death.

But if the substance of that spat is that T-dub's 19th hole involved more than just a couple of beers with Steve Williams, the press is going to make it their business to make it our business because there is no game that the press likes more than to skewer the PR images that celebrities put forth.

The more that image is "manufactured" and the more standoffish the celebrity is with the media, the higher the stakes of the game.

If the media smells (or knows there IS) blood in the water, they are going to chew on this for as long as they can.

If Tiger is guilty of an affair, he might get away with it if he cuts it off now and there happens to be no paper trail or photo evidence hooking the two together. Then it will just be between him and Elin.

But if he's trying to sandbag us all, he's taking a big risk that someone isn't already sitting on a half dozen or so "balcony snuggling" telephoto pix just watching the sales price creep ever higher.

I'm inside...then I hear something...I go outside...See my husband's car against a tree. Then instead of running over to see if he was OK...I run back into the house to get a golf club (otherwise I am always carrying one in my back pocket or purse). Then I run over and break out the back window.

It's the story and I'm sticking to it I could have come up with a hundred better stories in a matter of minutes. Christ...the dog ran out in front of me. The baby's rattle got stuck under the accelerator. Well, the "other woman" in question has already said they never did anything. She's just milking the attention gain. I am hearing only right now that Tiger's a big-time cheater and tail-chaser and that there's "tons of evidence" out there with him and other women when he gets off the links, but...where is it? He can't be that good at cleaning up his tracks if all it takes to crack the dam is this little bruhaha.

Just fucking hearsay ain't shit.
