Looks like at least one guy in Seattle is a dead man walking
http://www.cnn.com/2009/CRIME/11/29/...ing/index.html
Seattle, Washington (CNN) -- Four police officers were fatally shot Sunday in what police said was an ambush in a coffee shop near Tacoma, Washington.
The officers were sitting in the coffee shop in Lakewood, Washington, before the start of their shifts, reading on their computers, when the shooting occurred, said Sheriff's Department spokesman Ed Troyer. He told reporters authorities believe the officers were meeting and going over cases or doing paperwork.
"This was a targeted, selected ambush," Troyer told reporters. He said a gunman came inside, opened fire and shot all four officers. Two baristas and other customers inside the shop were unharmed -- "just the law enforcement officers were targeted."

Let's just hope it isn't the next police officer he meets.

The guy has no chance. No way does anyone get away with this.

Sounds rather professional. Guy walks in, kills four cops, walks out. Chances are he was on another continent a few hours later.

And he reportedly left on foot. The Military has offered to help in the search but the Seattle P.D. has declined help. So far.

95% chance it's a pro assassin and he got insider info on their meet-up. Whatever they were meeting on must've been something dead serious. Or all of them were marked for something they helped bust-up in the past. This is like on some Crying Freeman type shit.

If it were, say, Sicily, I would guess the killings were meant to "send a message." But not in Seattle. In most countries -- in fact, in nearly all countries that do not approach the failed-state level of sociopolitical disintegration -- ordinary profit-motivated criminals accept the police like they accept the weather: Sometimes you can bribe them, otherwise you just try to avoid their notice, but in no circumstances do you even think of fighting them the way you might fight a rival gang. If you try that, you'll always lose; the cops have more resources, more firepower, they're better organized, and in a pinch they can always call on other police forces and the National Guard for help. A crook might consider killing a cop to get out of a corner, but only as a last resort; kill one cop, and you've still got the rest of the force to deal with, and they will give the case top priority.
Thus, there are a limited number of imaginable reasons why a person might assassinate four cops in public:
* He's a nutcase.
* He's some kind of off-the-pigs political radical.
* He had a personal beef with one of the cops; the others are just collateral damage.
* He had a personal beef with cops in general; maybe cops shot his brother or something.
* One or more of the cops were involved in an investigation that was closing in on him and he was driven to desperate measures -- but that's not likely; you can't stop an investigation by killing the investigating officers. In fact, the dead cops' active cases are where the homicide investigators will start looking.
Can you think of any others?

IX. The Courtyard
It was the city I had known before;
The ancient, leprous town where mongrel throngs
Chant to strange gods, and beat unhallowed gongs
In crypts beneath foul alleys near the shore.
The rotting, fish-eyed houses leered at me
From where they leaned, drunk and half-animate,
As edging through the filth I passed the gate
To the black courtyard where the man would be.
The dark walls closed me in, and loud I cursed
That ever I had come to such a den,
When suddenly a score of windows burst
Into wild light, and swarmed with dancing men:
Mad, soundless revels of the dragging dead -
And not a corpse had either hands or head!

You know they don't want anyone else around if they catch the guy. Bring in the military or other departments and there's less chance the killer "dies in a shootout."

Tacoma not Seattle. Lakewood is very close to Fort Lewis and not far from some of the gang hot spots.

No. A nutjob would have shot everyone.

That's what I'm saying. Dude knew what to do as soon as he waltzed towards the shop. Pros don't flash. He's not going to be wearing a full suit with a flashy tie and fedora with a cigar hanging out his mouth.

And that is a good thing as far as I'm concerned. As much as I'd like to see these scum bags caught soonest, I don't really want the military running around playing cop. And it would be illegal to boot.
But they will catch him. After the shooting in Seattle a short time back, every police officer in the state will be volunteering to search. God help the asshole if he fights back when they find him.

I'm thinking they have a good idea what's going on. From what I've read it kinda sounds like they do but don't want to say so.
