beautiful women

Here's a quote that I just loved, I'm posting it here to 1) welcome some replies about the great quote, and 2) in the hopes of finding a special female to start up a wonderful, adventurous online friendship.

"Women don't understand how beautiful they are. They don't understand it. They get beauty all confused with personality, or charisma, or a nice smile ... but they don't really see the simple beauty of this ... and his hand glided again over her bottom. It's a goddamn tragedy that you can't see it. But you can't; I know you can't. And it's just so beautiful. My problem is not really that I sleep with so many women. My problem is that I fall in love with them."

I'm not sure how to describe it, but that simple phrase sends my brain spinning. I picture my hand sliding over the lower curves of the asses of the women I've known.

I agree. Most women just don't get it. I can find something attractive in every woman I meet. Every one.
Most of those that do know how beautiful they are, use that power as a weapon.

Who's quote is it?

It's from a John Sandford novel I'm reading, called Heat Lighting.

I don't understand why he said women don't understand it. Perhaps I disagree with him.

Many women don't realize the attraction they hold for men.
Honestly, if women knew how many men think about them as they go about their day, not specifically carnally, just appreciative of their beauty, the women would feel more than just a little creeped out.

And do you think women see men in the same "appreciative" way?

you are right on with what you say about appreciating a woman's beauty - that's what it's all about - it's not just a sexual thing, but for me, it's like going to an art museum and seeing work of art - it just evokes feelings and emotions that can't even be put into words

I agreed wholeheartedly when I read that passage from the book...which is a really good read.

It is so very true. Women think because they are not runway models, they are ugly. Well I have this and I don't have that, it drives me crazy. A woman's body is like a work of art, it has to examined, stared at taken care of, and appreciated.

Interesting thread.....

I find beauty in women I know well and equally in those of only passing acquaintance.

Sometimes physical attraction and pure lust plays its heady part (And then some!), but in contrast the most beautiful and captivating women I have ever met was on line and not even pictures were exchanged and yet she had me-totally.

Now the question, do women know? All my instincts tell they do and therein lies their magic, because they also know that beauty is far more than just skin deep.

Of course we don't see it. No offense to the men of the world who aren't like this, but a lot of men only find "runway model types" worth their attention; and I'm not talking about just sexual attention. Other women are just as bad; I've had more women have issues with my looks than men.

It's a beautiful quote, as well as a wonderful sentiment, but you'll have to pardon those of us who are a little cynical about the whole thing...and Guys: don't take it personally, it's just a product of our times.

Apparently not, if the whole Twilight thing is anything to go by!

I think they do, sometimes. But generally, from what I understand, women aren't held captive by it.
A woman won't be persuaded to buy a cetain car because a good looking man is selling it. Whereas a man could be swayed by the saleswoman.

I've always thought the same thing. But if you are able to tell the woman how attractive she is (physically, personality-wise, her sense of style, etc.) without creeping her out, it can really make her day.

i second this WickedAngel. i have always found that men want the "barbie doll" type of woman. i have a male friend now who tells me that i am beautiful, smart, sexy and so on and i have such a hard time trying to believe that! the magazines and television shows - they don't show "real" women, they show barbie dolls and runway models and the real women of the world (well i will say "most") end up feeling inferior. so men, make sure that if you are attracted to us real women - say it, please!

most women dont feel beautiful because of the standards that supposidly that we are supposed to follow. I never felt more beautiful then when i was pregnant but now that is gone and the fat has remained, its discouraging seeing women celebrities look like toothpicks the next day. Some women use the power of knowing they are beautiful to the extreme though. But generally most women are shy but on this site its almost like we are equal ground....
