Yup, I fucking hate Twilight.
It's an insult to literature, but what are you gonna do? The little pre-teenie girls need their brand of porn too, I guess.

My daughter asked me to read the books. Fuck. That women should be charged with impersonating a writer. For the life of me I can't figure out how she wrote four rather long books and didn't say a single fucking thing.

I'm sorry. It's hard when your kids are into some huge pop culture fad that is clearly...er, stupid. And then they feel the need to share it with their parents.
You'd be surprised at how much someone can write without saying a single fucking thing of significance...
Frankly, I think Meyer or whatever the fuck her name is, is really a literotica "writer" who used to write shitty vampire porn and post it on lit.

I made the mistake of watching the first one with my girl last month, now she's all hopped up for this one.
Good thing she wants to see Boondock Saints first.

The first book was okay, but I don't understand why hating it has become so trendy these days.
Only the COOL KIDS hate Twilight, those damn douchebag sparkly vampires can eat a dick!

Um, Killy? It's been all over the intraweb and news for weeks now. If you follow Lady GaGa, there's no way you've not heard about this all.
I love how the entire Twilight thingy started during a dream author Stephenie Meyer had on MY birthday back in 2003 (and not just because I share the date with Marquis de Sade)...
Meyer says that the idea for Twilight came to her in a dream on June 2, 2003. The dream was about a human girl, and a vampire who was in love with her but thirsted for her blood. Based on this dream, Meyer wrote the transcript of what is now Chapter 13 of the book. In a matter of three months she had transformed her dream into a completed novel, though she claims that she never intended to publish Twilight and was writing for her own enjoyment. Her sister's response towards the book was enthusiastic and she persuaded Meyer to send the manuscript to literary agencies.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stephenie_Meyer
Some saying she's an insult to Literature and should be charged with impersonating a writer must be jealous. If only you'd not wasted all those posts on idiots in a so-called porn forum every day all these years and instead invested your brilliant writing skills more wisely... who knows how well you could be sitting now.
Besides, who in their right mind claims a person wrote four rather long books and didn't say a single fucking thing - yet READ THEM ALL?! And don't give me you did it for your daughter excuse.

Those Twilight Mom pix are just like what I've seen on the local news all week.
Bizarre, totally. But man do I remember when 'Grease' came out when I was a kid. My mother dragged me to see that several times that summer. Even got a Danny poster plus the album and we all did the dances and sang the songs like it was some major fucking musical that everyone in the world just had to be hip to because Grease was the Word.
Silly fads. If they make people happy, hell, who cares.

Our oldest daughter picked up our youngest (18) and took her and her own daughter (13) to see this movie last night. Every show was sold out; they said they were lucky to get tickets early.
My youngest said the line for the movie stretched halfway around the theater building; mostly moms and daughters. Hype, indeed.
I was in the den writing when she came home and went to bed, so I have no idea how the movie was. I'm sure someone here will fill everyone in.
...and I agree with KR; I'm sick of hearing about it and seeing it on every screen in the house.

I think most who have grown to despise Twilight either just aren't into that genre and/or they're just tired of seeing it everywhere they turn. The books are pretty good, but not everyone will like them. The first movie was pretty good, but it's not for everyone. I'll probably go see the second one.
A good writer knows how to get their readers hooked. A smart writer knows how to make 50 million dollars a year off of hooked readers.
Eclipse will be in theaters in June.
I saw The Blind Side yesterday. It's a great movie to go see if you want to get away from Twilight for a few hours.

everyone has the right to their own opinion, but as for me and my girls? we LOVE it. it is addictive, i give you that. my oldest daughter hates to read, and when i saw her nose deep in a book i had to wonder what was so good to get her there. i started reading twilight..and i understood. they went to the midnight showing,(i had to work and couldnt)..but im going tonight...and they are going back again to see it.
i know im going to get alot of jokes on this..but i stick up for what i like and this series is awesome.

Come to Canada, and we can go together. I tried going last night- but even with advance tickets- the theatre was packed: 45 minutes too early!
