My Health Insurance Company wouldn't cover my Chantix prescription today
To help me stop smoking.
What kind of fucked up shit is that?
Now I wonder if they will cover me at all if I get sick.
You would think they would love to help me with some precription insurance to stop smoking.
But no.

Just about anyone could have told you they wouldn't have. That's always been one of the downsides to the stop smoking drugs. They're expensive and you gotta pay cash.

It's a trade-off. What you don't spend on smoking you spend on the drugs that will make you psychotic and suicidal.

Just buy the patches, get it into your mind you don't want to be a smoker and then pay what they ask. In 10 weeks you will have spent the same amount you would have on cigarettes but then it's over...
You've gotta do it. If you don't...
Insurance will pay for chemo, etc. (usually 100% after yearly Out of Pocket) but it's always gonna cost you. And eventually you will not be able to pay their premiums anymore because you'll be too sick to work, you'll be cancelled and you're fucked with public health assistance.
And besides, cancer would suck to die from. Just think 10 weeks and that's something you can check off...

My private drug plan up here in Canada paid 80% of the cost of mine and my wifes last March.
It's very good stuff, worked great.

You would think it would be in their best interest to show interest in helping clients quit one of the top reasons for early death and disease in this country. The CEO of my insurance company makes 480,000 a week.
Thats more important to them apparently.

Oh sure....all that makes perfect sense.
What doesn't is that smoking cessesion aids are exempted.
These are all the reasons why we need health Insurance reforms in this country.
The Insurance companies should save a few trees and instead of printing pages and pages and pages of whats not covered....they could just print what IS covered.
On a post it note.

Im sure it's covered in every industrialized nation on earth.
Except The United Staes of America which ranks 37th on the World Health Organization world health care ranking list.
Right below Cuba.

That was funny
But the bottom line is in 10 weeks you will have spent the same amount. While you quibble with Capitol Hill in week eleven you will either still be spending money on cigarettes or spending it on a cool vacation...

Mine doesn't.
You may want to confirm yours does. I'll be honest with you all and open myself up to ridicule and jokes but I spent 500 dollars on Viagra today.

Do you honestly believe you know more about it than insurance companies? They know exactly how much it costs them to cover a non smoking drug and to cover someone who gets cancer. Statistics is what they do.

I doubt you'd rather be a Socialist. Perhaps you should look it up first.

Then they need a new statistician.
You cant tell me that covering a few hundred in chantix is cheaper than covering someone with Lung cancer, COPD, Emphysema or any other host of respiritory illnesses.
By the way.
House on Haunted Hill is on AMC. Do you like that one?

We all pay for everything we do in life. I saved money last night as far as I'm concerned. We were supposed to go to dinner and the movies but she wanted to stay in and have sex. After sex I ordered us a couple sandwiches.
Dinner+Movie=$75.00
Sex+Subs=$20.00
