Prostitutes and drugs allowed?
Hey just wondering if the use of drugs and prostitutes are allowed in lit story's.
Thanks for the help.

I've done both. The drugs have been a incidental mention, because I know little-to-nothing about the details of drug use. Have quite a few stories with male prostitutes. I find that clears away most of the up-front preparation needed for most other approaches.
Oh, and I had a straight (nonerotic. 4.75 rating) one in the Winter contest last year (Déjà Vu Christmas) set in a cat house, with prostitutes and pimps--and I think there also was a mention of drugs. No carry-through sex, though.

The only actions not allowed on Lit (if you bothered to read the rules) are sexual things that are illegal in the USA. I think this includes any position remotely pleasurable, like doggy-style.

You can write about either, but in the end, the characters have to truly regret their actions.

Not really. I have one prostitute just going on and on and on from one interesting encounter to another across a series of stories at Lit. (which was made into a published book that is still selling well). Nearly all of those stories run hot here at Lit. and I get e-mails asking me to add to the series.
I don't think there really is much of anything that there aren't readers for at Lit. If you're content with a couple of thousand fans for what you write, you're good to go here on just about anything that gets accepted by the editors.
(And, Charley, prostitution was still illegal most everywhere in the States the last time I checked, so I can't quite figure out what your post means.)

Yes. At the end of all stories, the principles must regret their actions, and come to Bronzeage to repent and be punished

The only things illegal on Lit are characters under 18 engaging in anything sexual and bestiality. But then you can change the beast to non-human and go for broke.

I've never written drugs into my stories. Ah well, I did use opium in one poem. But, I have definitely involved ladies of the night in my work.

You're kidding, right, BA? A lot of my stories have unrepentant drug use, and might even be taking as openly espousing drug use (heaven forfend!). I'm a big fan of drugs both legal and illegal and always have been. No one's ever said boo to me about drug use in my stories.
I've had whores too, and I think I've even had whores using drugs. I've had people murdered in stories too, though not as a sexual act.
The only things that I know that are off-limits in Lit are anything evenly remotely associated with sex that involves people under the age of 18, bestiality (though sex with fantasy animals seems to be okay), or serious violence for sexual gratification.

Those are absolutely not accepted, but there are other restrictions too, but not as well delineated. Brutal rape is not allowed or slasher type stories. Things like brown or golden showers or vomit fetishists and really gross stuff like that also might not get past Management.
