Where No One Belongs

Kelsey was the shy, quiet girl in school.Everyone walked all over her because they knew that they could.Kelsey graduated top of her class and moved into a small apartment and started to earn her way through college.

On this dark gloomy Friday night Kelsey walks through the park on her way home from another shift at the local diner.She walks past an old cemetary and hears voices from not far off.She decides to follow them and see what is going on.She walks into the graveyard and stands behind a tombstone big enough to hide herself.She peeks around it to see a gathering of people.They all look rather evil and also like they are planning something.A twig snaps under the pressure of my foot and the group turns as one.Have I been spotted?



ooc:I need a couple of people to play vampires? This is what Kelsey looks like.

Romulus not only heard the sound but he also had felt the presence. The scent of blood had reached his nostrils way before the sound. He turned around towards the slight sound of a heartbeat, and then he suddenly was behind her.

She didn’t hear him as he stood right behind her. Are you lost little girl, are you making a habit of walking where you shouldn’t have. He voice was soft and mellow, than reached with a hand with dark rather long finger nails. He touches her cheek then gently moves it lower to the side of her neck.

“Don’t be afraid I will not hurt you."

All this time his black eyes were penetrating through hers like lasers.”

“I am called Romulus, and what is your name little girl.”

Kelsey immeadiately straightened like a board. How could she have been caught and she barely saw anyone move? She turned to stare into the piercing eyes of Romulus. They were almost mesmerizing. As he touched her cheek, she slightly shivered. It would have been unnoticeable to anyone else, but he noticed it. She checkd to make sure no one else had moved and then glared into his porcelain-like, beautiful face. She quickly reverted into her i-don't-give-a-shit attitude.

"Little girl? I'm 18, thank you. And I'm not giving my name to someone I don't know. Especially not a creeper like you."

She took a step back and right into a huge gravestone. With her back to the cold granite, she had no where to go. So she just continued her nonchalant act with Romulus.

Romulus had smile to her innocence knowing that deep inside she was scared. She didn’t know who and more than that what he is.

"Little girl? I'm 18, thank you. And I'm not giving my name to someone I don't know. Especially not a creeper like you."

He laughs softly as she tried to move farther away from, but ran right into a grave stone. He moved closer to her and lowers his level with hers.

“So you are eighteen and you think I am a creeper. I guess you are a well grown up woman in some ways” he told her.

For some reason Romulus liked her. She had spunk more than he ever saw in any one her age.

Romulus played along with her as he wanted her to want him this time. She would make a very good lover, and she would also supplies him with some of his needs.

“I will not harm you if you let me walk you home. Take a look at the others over there. They see you walking alone, they might think you are for the taking, it is your choice to make.”

Kelsey glanced over at the others. They seemed in deep conversation. About what, Kelsey had no idea.

"The taking for what? What are you?"

Kelsey then looked back up into his eyes. She saw the lust in his eyes, and shrunk back again. She glanced back at the group, and decided she'd rather not walk alone. She'd take her chances with him, other than a whole group of them.

Romulus could see that she was thinking and looked at the odds if she went all by herself. Romulus was not going to her but she didn’t that. He wanted to gain all her confidence till the time came she would do anything for him.

“The taking of what? What are you” she asked him.

“Well I’ll tell you but you are not going to like it. They are all Vampires, and they will have their way with you, and, they might even kill you in the progress. I will keep my promise not to hurt you as I said before.”

She looked the others as they were talking to one another; she looked again around the cemetery. She made her mind up than to walk with Romulus.

“I’m ready whenever you are, but you have to promise me to tell me what to call you.”

Kelsey began walking with him. She kept glancing back, checking out the other vampires. That still surprised her. Vampires aren't supposed to exist.

"My name's Kelsey."

Romulus couldn’t help smiling every time she turned around to look back. He could imagine what she was thinking, and he wondered if she believed in them.

Thank you Kelsey, at least now I have a name to call you with. Little did she know that now he had a way into her mind. “Kelsey”. He said softly like it was a breath in the wind, so that she heard it just as a whisper and not from him.

"Tell me Kelsey. What were you doing that tonight that made you walk home this late, and through the cemetery no less. You should know that it is very dangerous walking alone at night."

I like your name Kelsey, I think it suit’s you very well. Kelsey was directing Romulus the way to her home. The area she lived in was in the upper class homes in the area, and now the other thing he needed, was to enter with her permission. He was not going to go in beyond two/three steps, as that was far enough.

When they got to her home he walked her right to the front door, and waited till she opens the door.

As they walked along the streets and he made small talk, she started to feel more at ease.

"I was at a friend's house. The graveyard is a shortcut I take. Though that's the first time I've seen you there."

Kelsey watches the faces of the people they pass. Like she often does, wondering what they're day was like. The troubles they faced. Soon they are at her house, and she unlocks the door and steps inside. Though this guy had scared the hell out of her, somehow she now felt more at ease.

"Do you want to come in for a little bit?"

Something told her this was a bad idea, but she ignored it. He had walked her home and nothing had gone wrong. What's the worst that could happen?

Kelsey started to relax as they walk together while they talk casually.

"I was at a friend's house. The graveyard is a shortcut I take. Though that's the first time I've seen you there."She replied.

“To be honest I don’t make a habit of hanging around with them, some time they get out of hand and I rather not be there.” He smiled than added. “I am glad though that I was with them tonight, or I would’ve missed seen you.”

Kelsey kept looking at the peoples that were walking in the opposite direction. He could tell she was thinking, but he didn’t ask about it.

They finally reached her house and she opens the door and steps inside. He stood there waiting to see what she would do next.

“Do you want to come in for a bit?”

Romulus smiled at her while thinking, and wondering if he could control himself.

“I would very much like to come in if you are sure. I would love to see the inside of your house.”

Kelsey held the door as he walked in.

"Why are you glad to see me?"

She closed the door softly, then set her stuff down on the floor. After kicking off her shoes, she turned and looked at him. She spread her arms, showing off the house.

"This is it.Not so great."

Kelsey held the door while walked in, than as she closed it he looked around a little.
“Why are you glad to see me” she asked.

Romulus had to think a little what to say that would please her, and she would trust him even more.

“I don’t want to sound to forward or anything, but when I saw you. I felt a tug like, coming from you. I like your looks. Actually you are a very beautiful girls Kelsey, and I would love to know you better if you let me.”

“On the contrary, I think your hose is very nice.”

Kelsey watched him uneasily.

"You barely know me. You shouldn't base getting to know people on their looks. And as far as I could tell, some of the woman in your little group were attractive."

Kelsey walked into the kitchen and poured herself a glass of water. She watched Romulus wander around the house, looking around. She stepped out onto her back deck and stared up at the stairs, waiting for him to get done.

He could tell Kelsey was thinking over what he just told her, but he didn’t really worry about it. He was welcome in her house now and she couldn’t take it.

Kelsey move away towards the kitchen as he was looking at her house more closely, then joined her on the back deck and she was looking at the stars.
I was going to tell you that no matter how nice looking the girls were, I’m not interested in them at all.

Kelsey looked up at him and raised an eyebrow. She chuckled to herself softly and looked back up at the stars.

"I'm a little out of your league. Maybe you should stick with the more....how do i say this...vampire-type woman."

She looked at him, attempting to guess his age. He looked young, roughly her age or younger, but she knew that wasn't true. She decided to turn the topic to something else.

"The stars are beautiful tonight. I like to come out here after a long, and in this case eventful, day and just unwind."

She sat her glass on the railing and wrapped her arms around herself, from the October wind, and continued staring off.

Kelsey turns her head up looking at the stars again, maybe to think what to say next.

"I'm a little out of your league. Maybe you should stick with the more....how I say this...vampire-type woman."

“Ho! I don’t know about that. I was never attracted to them, How you called them. Vampire-type women and you think you’re out of my league. Why would you say that?

Kelsey quickly changed the subject still looking away from him.

"The stars are beautiful tonight. I like to come out here after a long, and in this case eventful, day and just unwind."

“Yes the stars are very beautiful, but you’re also getting a little cold out here” he told her as he took his jacket and puts it over her shoulder, holing her lightly for a moment.

Kelsey hugged the jacket around herself, and looked back over at him.

“I figured you’d be attracted to those women, because they are exceptionally beautiful. And more like you, hence in your league.”

She turned fully towards him and stared deep into his eyes.

“Why are you here? You could have just walked me home and left it at that. Hell, you could have just left me walk through the graveyard in peace? Are you planning on killing me or something?”

She laughed then, a laugh that was dainty and sweet. Then stopped to yawn.

“Maybe you should go now. I really should be getting to bed soon, I work tomorrow.”

She handed him back his jacket and picked up her glass. She opened the sliding glass doors and held them open for him.

Romulus loved her scent and softly sniffed her neck.

“I figured you’d be attracted to those women, because they are exceptionally beautiful. And more like you, hence in your league.”

He smiled and looked at her for a moment when she turned and looks into his eyes.

“Beautiful they may be but I am not attracted by them, and they are nothing like me at all”

“Why are you here? You could have just walked me home and left it at that. Hell, you could have just left me walk through the graveyard in peace? Are you planning on killing me or something?”

“Kelsey that’s a very silly thing to say, I don’t want to kill you. I am here because you invited me. Kelsey if you remember you asked if I wanted to come in. Yes I did want to come in, but that was because I wanted to be with you a little longer. You should also remember I said I wouldn’t hurt you, and I have not even touched you.

Kelsey seemed to be a little agitated, or perhaps a little tire as her laugh sounded a little off.

“You should go” she told him suddenly, and she opens the sliding door for him to go.

Romulus smile at her as he steps outside, and before he left he said. “
I like to will see you again Kelsey, I will wait for you in the same place we met.”

He didn’t wait for her reply he just walked away.

Kelsey's eyes follow him as he leaves. She wonders what is going through his head.

Romulus could sense Kelsey was still there at the door looking at him, and he had decided not to visit her that night. He was ready to give her the chance to come to him on her own. If not he would go to her, and wouldn’t be as nice as he had tried to be.

The thing that came to his mind as he walked away was if she really knew what he was, and if she did, was playing hard to get. That would be very typical of human girls.

“Well you sleep well my little human, but you make sure you don’t forget our date” he said to no one in particular.

He walked through the park where he knew that women always walked or run, and it wasn’t long before one came running. He never gave her a chance to see him. He came right behind her without a sound, and before she knew, he had one hand over her mouth and his teeth on her neck holding her with the other hand. He drank just enough for her to feel a little dizzy and left.

Kelsey closed the door behind him and leaned up against it. This was all just a bad dream; go to bed and you'll forget about it all in the morning, she kept telling herself. She walked around the downstairs, turning out all the lights. She made her way upstairs and decided to take a long hot shower to help her shake off her troubles.

"It's been a long day," she said out loud to herself.

She turned on the water to a little less than scolding hot. She stripped off her clothes and stepped in, letting the hot water soak into her skin.

Romulus made it back to his place just before the sun came up. His mind had been on Kelsey since he left her. He got into his casket and went to sleep still thinking about her.

He woke as usual as the sun fell behind the horizon, and he thought of Kelsey, wondering if she remembered she had a date that night. He went on a hunt as he didn’t want to feed on Kelsey, although that wouldn’t stop him if she didn’t show for up.

The park was a great place as women would always run through the path for their exercises. Romulus didn’t have to wait long for one. She stops by a tree and leans into it, then he strike, holding his hand over mouth. As always Romulus controls his intake then leave her sitting by the tree. He wipes all traces’ of blood and heads towards the cemetery.

Kelsey bursts into her apartment carrying a numerous amount of bags. She sits them down on the kitchen table. She turns on the stereo and as music fills the house, she remembers her "date" with Romulus. She shrugs it off though. He was kind of weird, and a little creepy.

She begins to make super, busying herself around the kitchen when she hears a crash at the front. She runs out to see what it was...

Romulus was not in a kinder mood, and didn’t bother knocking Kelsey door. He just kicked it with his foot. He stood there till Kelsey came to the door.

“I think you forgot you had a date Kelsey, one thing you always should remember that you keep your dates with a vampire.”

He sniffed the air and the scent of human food hit’s his nostrils.

“I see you are making dinner, how nice. Would you like to have yours first then I have mine, or should I have mine first?” He said very softly.

Kelsey looked at him quizzically.

"what do you mean? you said you weren't going to kill me."

Kelsey turns and sprints up the stairs, locking the door to her room behind her and sitting down in front of it. What had just happened? What did he mean? She took out her cell phone and started to dial 911, when she heard his footsteps in the hallway outside her door. She decided no matter what happened, to leave the call open so that they could hear what was going on.
