you know michigan is a fairly liberal state, right? she is, however, going for the conservative side. grand rapids is one county over from ottawa which, i believe, used to hold a record for going republican in consecutive elections (until obama).or so i heard. no clue if it was true. is it very, very conservative, though. |

Yes, it's blue (or is it red? Whichever one is democrats), but there's clearly a primary or election stragegy in play here. Who holds a book tour in South Dakota but not North Dakota, Florida but not Georgia or Alabama, Virginia but not Maryland, etc. Iowa and Florida speak for themselves.

Just the other week, my hipster caucasian friend with a Jesus beard and popped collar sky blue Polo shirt got his new iPod Nano stolen off the bar counter when he turned his head to try to rap to a slightly overweight Asian girl with short hair and a chest tattoo made of kanji he couldn't pronounce.
