Three simple reasons Obama did not go to Berlin:

1 - It is a world achievement he had nothing to do with (i.e. it is not enough about him) that came about in part as a result of a US President who was a world leader. Something he will never be.
2 - Things having to do with freedom make him uncomfortable.
3 - He is a small, small person
