Do you see what I see?
My society is based on moral pilosophy. Yours is based on blinde religious faith.
This is why Soviet died, and China still lives.
Individual sense of decency, Alex.
Is this not individual freedom?

Dude, your society sells little girls' used panties in vending machines.
Just saying, to be fair, if you want to take isolated red herrings and apply them to a Nation as large, diverse, and complex as the USA, there are ample examples we can use to the same effect in Japan.

And I'm still trying to figure out how the Soviets failed because of religion.

Also, to be fair I've been to Japan and haven't seen some of the stuff they supposedly sell like the panties and such. Doesn't mean it doesn't exist but it wasn't something that was all over. Many things like that I take with a grain of salt.

How about a vending machine that sells clean underwear? You could put on in the men's dorms and make a fortune.

Exactly. It is true, there are pictures of the vending machines on the internet. But, it's not like they are commonplace on every street corner.
Just like it's extremely uncommon for the cops to taze a 72 yr old grandma in the USA.
Red herrings , however, are common everywhere, if you look hard enough.

I've said many times before that the Japanese culture is really weird. It's a mix of eastern and western that has created some very strange things. In the end it's mostly our fault because its' the western portion of their culture that's the most fucked up.

I don't know about that. Several of their traditions are better left in the dust bin of history after we "influenced" them.
Not saying every change we imposed was good, but overall, better than before.
