dogs, dogs, dogs.
people are like dogs.
or dogs are like people.
but i like dogs much more.
so i've made a thread to ramble about dogs & people, people & dogs.
today's ramble...
i don't like small dogs!
ok, there are exceptional small dogs that i do like, but for the most part i just don't.
the trouble with small dogs is that they have something to prove. a small dog attitude that comes from knowing you're small but refusing to believe it.
they have horrid, high pitched barks and seem to yap far more often.
yipping and yapping at the ankles of the world.
sometimes i'll be walking a big dog and a small dog will run up, yipping and yapping, snout twisted up into an ugly, spittle flinging snarl.
they bounce there, yapping and growling, fighting their one dog war.
and the big dog just looks at them, slightly perplexed, and then continues whatever it's doing, completely ignoring the yippy, yappy cur.
eventually they run out of steam...yipping and yapping are quite tiring y'know...and they strut off, convinced that they won the war, that their foe is beaten, that they rule the world.
it's very hard not to kick the little buggers.
nobody likes a dog with something to prove.
the need to prove it is just further evidence that they lack.
i've met a few good small dogs, but even then it seems like a cruelty to have them made so small in such a big, big world. de-doggified dogs. it just seems wrong. destined to be stepped on, picked up or giggled at as they strut away.

only ever seen 1 calm Jack Russell. An old girl and fat but so so laid back
little dogs tend to perplex and annoy me.

A lot of people personify dogs. People who do shouldn't own them, since most bad dog behavior can be attributed to this.
Stupid humans shouldn't have pets. They shoud be spending more time trying to make themselves less stupid.

I have two larger dogs and I adore them. I don't adore how expensive it is to feed them and the heaps of poo I have to shovel everyday. But they're worth it.

Dogs are proof that God loves us.
Pekingese are the best.

You know Pekingese are one of the oldest breeds and closer to the wolf than almsot all others and are around today because of the British who rescued 5 of them during the second Opium War after all the dogs were ordered killed so as not to fall into the hands of the invaders.
Before then only members of the Imperial Palace could own them. Anyone else caught with one was executed.

I want a Samoyed...but I need a bigger house first. It'd be cruel to keep a fluffy dog like this outside in Oklahoma heat.
I don't know how much they cost, probably a lot...but I think I'll wait til Brooke is older before I get a large dog.

All my animals are from the shelter and are mixed breeds. My #1 dog is a black lab/border collie mix. She is amazingly smart and loving.
