This thread will talk about
:
- The Bible Code
- Nostradamus
- The Mayan Calendar
- Solar Flares
- Atlantis and The Labyrinth
Other end of the world theories are welcome.
The Bible Code is the typical word scramble you might find in the Newspaper.
It shows the number 2012 next to Earth Annihilation.
That's not a prediction, is coincidence!
Nostradamus was not a true see-er.
He closely studied human nature, and knew past events tend to repeat themselves, such as the takeover of indian tribes.
The Mayan calendar starts at 3000 BC and ends at 2012.
One might ask "Why did they end it at 2012?"
My response to that is: "Why did they start it at 3000 BC?"
It's just a random date with no meaning.
The calendar is so huge it fits almost every year, but everything has it's limits.
It stopped at 2012 only because they couldn't fit anything else on.
People talk about the planetary alignment or a polar shift, but the Mayans couldn't foresee either phenomenon.
To mark off the planetary alignment, one must know the relation between the Earth, Sun, Saturn, and Jupiter.
At the time of the Mayans, Jupiter and Saturn weren't even discovered yet.
The other thing was Earth's orbit was much bigger then, so it would appear as the sun is far away.
Atlantis is nothing but a tall tale.
It's a story based on truth, but is over exaggerated, in fact Plato admits this before he talks about it.
The Labyrinth or "Hall Of Records" is a similar tall tale.
It's based on truth, but is somewhat exaggerated.
Take for example the Trojan Horse.
In the myth, the horse of the gods stands 7 feet tall and made of solid ivory.
It's stomach was lined with gold, and could comfortably hold a number of soldiers for a full day before attacking the enemy fort.
The reality of this is that it stood at only 4 - 5 feet tall and made of wood and bamboo.
The stomach was lined with copper or brass and would not be comfortable at all let alone be there for a full day.
A polar shift is happening as we speak, so we won't feel the effects for another 70 - 80 years.
The most likely scenario is a mass power failure because of electro magnetic activity in our ionized atmosphere, however a mass power failure doesn't mean a global power failure.
It's likely when one state goes down, it's surrounding states go down, but not the states around them.
One last thought:
All the signs point to great change on December 21 2012, but the change doesn't have to mean the end of the world.
If you believe in the Mayan Calendar theory, it translates to a story about God making man incorrectly, then destroyed man and recreated it.
When he got that wrong he would do it again, and again, and so on.
The destruction of man should not be taken literally, but rather the birth of new knowledge, for all we know it could have meant a new form of communication which translates into the Internet.
When applied to the next election year, we have Net Neutrality.
