What is it with hunters?

What is going on up here!

At 4:00 PM I heard a shot go off and 1/1000 Second something whizzing past me.

I thought it was deer season not Shagly season upstate?

In crypts beneath foul alleys near the shore.
The rotting, fish-eyed houses leered at me
From where they leaned, drunk and half-animate,
As edging through the filth I passed the gate
To the black courtyard where the man would be.

The dark walls closed me in, and loud I cursed
That ever I had come to such a den,
When suddenly a score of windows burst
Into wild light, and swarmed with dancing men:
Mad, soundless revels of the dragging dead -
And not a corpse had either hands or head!

It happens every deer season— it's extremely dangerous to be a cow.

And for some reason it seems to be against custom to hunt while sober . . .

Your out in hunting season and bitching about the risk? Some people see a deer, they are not going look to close at whats behind it, so if your not nice and bright your not going be seen. Being out int he woods during hunting season for any reason is an at your own risk venture.
