White racism in the Age of Obama
What it means to people of color ( Blacks, Asians, Native Americans, Aboriginals, Hispanics, Middle-Easterners)
These people are now realizing that they can be anything they want to be and that their color is no barrier.
What it means to residents of Imperial Caucasia.
These people have been given unfair advantages for centuries because of the pallor of their skin and now realize they're not invincible, nor are they guaranteed to triumph over those different from themselves.
What does it mean to YOU ?
Well, it really depends on your race, your gender, where you are in the world and what you're up to.
Having a Black man as Leader of the Free World isn't going to mean the same thing to different people.

Yeah, I guess we should "award" positions of responsibility on merit, except when the color codings aren't correct in which case merit takes a secondary priority? I'd be happy with merit alone. Does that make me a racist?

You assume that, but you'd find it a false assumption. Merit is merit and that's it. Professional sports is a good model....football for example....pay is based on performance and I'm good with that. Lets let the rest of the economy work on the same basis. |

The counter argument would sound inevitably racist. "Unfair advantages?" What are fair advantages? Aren't advantages...just that?
Tell the Russians they had unfair advantages. Yet they're still a latent and formidable superpower.
