as much as I am scared of a Republican monopoly.

Democrats, you just have to know and accept this - you can't hold the Presidency AND Congress AND Governorships forever.

If the Blue Dogs get wiped out you still have other issues that spawn from the flawed nature of humanity, to deal with in the case of a long term monopoly on such a broad swath of national and local leadership.

While you do have the power, though, do try to talk to your base more, and to make good on your promises.

And to Obama, you ought to look at some or all of your Broken Promises and see why your base stayed home this election night.

Democrats, it's looking to me like you shot yourselves in the ass this time around. The Blue Dog Democrats helped with the poor aim but you pulled the trigger despite seeing your asscheeks in the crosshairs. Bad form, boys and girls... bad form.

It's a good thing that the window of opportunity for the party in power to run far and wild is usually an year and a half before it switches back in the hands of the opposition (usually).
Will see what happens in 2010. Concentration of power for a long time is a dangerous thing

The Democrats have a short window of time to enact sweeping changes that the citizenry will adopt as "third rail" reforms or demand repeals or reforms for the reforms, before the GOP comes back with their "profits first, humanity last" mentality. If the Dems screw up for too long, then they deserve to get sidelined.

The Repubs will certainly do what they do until they get swept back out to sea. I've got money, I can ride out the right wing bullshit and have enough left over for charity to clean up the damage they do to society.

What I cannot abide by is being fucked by my own party, and we are getting close to that point, especially with their health care reform fuckups. As long as they're not going to bat to create a robust and well to do working class upon whom I depend for my profits (millions of poor people do not need much insurance - millions of well to do people do), I'm not going to cry if they lose.
