New TV Movie

V

The 1982 (color) TV movie remake of the 1979 black and white movie (that nobody saw) will air tonight (9/3/09) with a more modern look.
On November 11, "2012" will come out in theaters, but I'm looking forward more to Alice In Wonderland on Syfy this December.

The TV movie remake aired in 1982 with a sneak peek a year before.
It featured Faye Dunaway who also played a student in Greatest American Hero at the time.
A TV series pilot aired in 1984 followed by the series a year after.
Again Dunaway played duo roles as she was doing Fame at the time.

The 4 hour movie airs this afternoon.

By the way, love the name (reference to "Alien Nation").

She was in the movie "A Chorus Line" which spilled over to the TV series Fame (or Vice-Versa).

You're a moron. You've got all kinds of people mixed up from what I can see. And since when was V in black and white? And since when did nobody see it? It was a hit.
Please shut the fuck up.

It was originally in black and white in the theaters, going against 2001: A Space Odyssey, Star Wars, Attack Of The 50 Foot Woman (re-release), Close Encounters Of The Third Kind, Jaws, Blade Runner, Rocky, and Brain Scan (or Scanners I can't remember).
It wasn't very popular until it got on TV, and it still wasn't a hit until it re-aired years later.

yeah, 2001 is from '68, star wars is from '77 and so is close encounters, jaws is from '75, blade runner came out in '82, rocky '76, scanners '81 and v was never a movie and the mini-series came out in '83. stop being stupid. it's boring.

I don't think Close Encounters gets enough credit these days. Arguably the best move about aliens visiting earth ever made. There is a sense of awe when watching it even today. I worry that people today wouldn't know a truly great film if it bit them in the ass.

I know people who either have zero interest in the subject or don't believe it to the point where they can't even watch a movie about it. I understand people like that not liking it. It's these idiots who think Independence Day is a great movie that piss me off. Go watch Close Encounters or The Day the Earth Stood Still you fuckers. Some people actually think the prequels are better than the original Star Wars trilogy. Those people should die painfully.

Ever hear of a long run?
The sleeper hit was such a blockbuster, it didn't die down until years later (after Star Wars On Ice and the Star Wars Wedding).

and so is close encounters,
Again, a long run.
Actually it was a re-release with deleted and re-edited scenes.

I was speaking of Jaws 2 (I should have specified).

I did say it was either Brain Scan or Scanners.
It must have been Brain Scan (seeing last moments of death).

V was originally a movie that nobody saw until it came on TV, so how would you know?
The mini series came out in 82 not 83.
The TV pilot in 84 and the TV series in 85.

I have no idea if you're being intentionally stupid or not. I'm going with "stupid" for now, given some of your past posts. Feel free to correct me and laugh.

V was a two part miniseries on television. There was another miniseries, and then the series. V was never a movie. There is no old black and white version. It was never release theatrically. And it was not produced as a TV movie.

Faye Dunaway wasn't on Greatest American Hero, or Fame, or part of V.

And Paul is not Dead.

If you're being intentionally retarded it would have been much cooler if you could have worked in The Man Who Fell To Earth.

i have the book. as usual, it's better, but i still love that movie. i was very happy when i realized it was the same director who did walk about and very sad that i didn't realize that years before. fuck, i'd seen them both several times before i made the (vague in my mind at the time) connection in style and then looked it up and was like duh!

And you are incorrect on all counts (except for the Paul MCcArtney thing).
1: I am not stupid.
2: V was not a 2 part mini series being 4 hours long, and not 2 hours.
3: There was no second mini series, although it was re-released on TV.
4: I didn't really mean black and white, but very dull color.
5: V was originally made in 1979.
This was not a good year for TV movies.
6: Faye Dunaway played a gum chewing student which would later lead to a bit part in "Valley Girl" (which surprisingly didn't feature the song "Valley Girl").
7: RETARDED PEOPLE ARE NOT STUPID!
