The Swan in the Cave

A young man of about 20, was taking a nice stroll through the forest near his small town. It was peaceful and it always calmed him down. He was in a meditative like state when he walked through these trees. That was why it was so easy for him to lose track of time, and where he was.

He started taking his walk, intending on only spending a half hour in the woods, and not going very far at all, but things did not go as planned. He walked for hours, and didn't notice until things wee getting dark. That when he looked around and saw nothing familiar. He was far from home, and it looked as though it would rain soon. He wouldn't be able to make it home. He needed to seek shelter. Like a gift from above there was a cave. Drops started falling on his head and within seconds it was an all out storm. He ran toward the cave.

The cave provided warmth and dryness and was deeper then it looked. He was shocked to see a fire burning when he wandered toward the end. When he dared get closer he saw her. A girl with feathers. Beautiful. Astoundingly beautiful. He couldn't speak but he watched as she noticed him and their eyes met.

Suvette
Goes by Suvi
No real age, but looks 19-20.

Medium length ice blue hair which hides her pearly white, blue and soft lavender ears
glowing violet eyes
She’s a quiet girl, though a little odd. She’s unsure how to interact with others, having been asleep most of her life; and she sometimes seems rude or strange. Not speaking much at first .

There once was a story of a prince from a small far away kingdom who wanted to find his perfect girl. A girl who’s beauty was beyond compare, who was sweet, quiet, and elegant. But none of the girls who came to call were suitable. So in frustration he went to the evil witch to make a deal with her. He’d give her anything in return she’d create his perfect princess.

As story goes the old woman agreed for a price unknown. And she’d asked the prince to leave and return in 2 days time. She took the most beautiful swan from the Crystal Lake and cast a spell on her turning her into something human. And when the prince returned he’d found something to him was grotesque. While she appeared human she’d a trail of silver feathers going down her spine, and her ears were large feathered silver and ice blue wings. Her hair was long and blue with silver bangs. And feathers gently caressed her large breast.

The Prince ran away leaving the witch’s palace. The woman not caring for what she’d seen as an abomination Cast a curse on her, and essentially tossed her aside in a cave and forgot about her…

After nearly a century later someone wandered into the enchanted cave. No one's dared enter the "haunted" cave, fearing Suvette. Whom over time as her story was passed down has been cast as some sort of monster.

When the young man entered the cave the enchantment which held her, looking to be in a deep sleep broke. With a deep gasp Suvette opened her eyes panting gently as she blinked a few times forgetting where she was; her ears twitching as she lie on the floor. Looking toward the direction the noise came from, she started to see a man in the entrance to the cavern she was in finding herself staring blankly at the figure in the shadows. Weakly moving her arms beneath her tentatively trying to sit up and back away from him.

For a long while he could do nothing but stare at her. She was unlike anything he'd ever seen, and it was a full minute before he could get words to come. In the meantime he notice she was backing away, as though she was afraid. He knelled down and gave her a gentle friendly smile, all in all trying to seem un-intimidating.

"Hello." he said eventually sounding almost cheerful, but also rather nervous. "You... don't need to fear me. I don't mean to hurt you or anything. I just got lost and there's this storm outside, so I came in here..." he tried to explain quickly. "My name's Zak. It's a pleasure to meet you." he said, only now daring to come nearer to her.

He'd gotten up and moved to sit down right next to her. He couldn't believe those eyes.... They were so bright and wonderful. there was of course other parts of her he thought of in the same way, but trying not to be rude to the girl he'd just met, his eyes stayed on hers. He was not afraid of the feathers of course, they just made her.... interesting. They were pretty feather too, especially those wings on her head. Yes, he would love to get to know this girl better.

He reached out his hand a polite sort of way, and seeing she still looked a little shy he went on to ask "And what may I call you?"

Suvette looked towards the man who stared at her getting the strength to move away backing away leaning against the wall curling her legs to her chest. Seeing him kneel introducing himself she cocked her head giving him a strange look, nodding acknowledging what he'd said.

As he got up slowly moving towards her she scooted away but he'd walked over to her cautiously taking a seat beside her. She tried pulling away again not knowing what was going on the cavern she was left in was dark only a flicker of eternal fire left for her casting a faint glow on themselves and the cave walls.

She looked at him closely her curiosity getting the better of her. Inspecting his shaggy silver hair, looking at his features his dark eyes his skin reflecting the glow of the fire. Noticing his eyes as they looked her over she looked down at herself not sure what caught his eyes giving him a questioning look. Her eyes traveled down his body seeing the necklace. She slowly reached forward her fingers mere centimeters from it before she pulled away. feeling drawn to the jewelry and its wearer she looked down further to his chest, then to hers taking notice of the difference. And peering down further at him she saw something else that looked different. But as before she didn't speak.

Now he started to look a little puzzled, she was acting rather oddly and he couldn't understand why she wouldn't speak to him. She had clearly been trying to avoid him earlier. If she didn't want him in her cave, she could've just said so.... But she wasn't avoiding him now. He put his hand down, since it was becuase obvious that she was not going to shake it. "Er... Hello?" he said awkwardly.

As he looked at her he saw her eye's drifting downwards. He knew he was in good shape, and smiled when her eyes were on his chest. Then the beautiful bright violet orbs continue down. He blushed, it was only now that he noticed that he had an erection. He shuffled until he was sitting differently and it was less obvious, but she'd already seen. Who could blame him? He had just found a gorgious woman wearing nothing but feathers. "I'm so sorry! I mean-! I uhm..." he spoke quickly trying to explain himself but she wasn't looking angry at him or anything. She really was rather strange.

He sat with her in the dim cave for a couple minutes. They just watched each other silently. He ached to reach out and just touch her arm or cheek. er skin looked so lovely and soft... It was like she had him in a trance for a while. It didn't last too long though, eventually the quite became too uncomfortable for him. "Please. Talk o me." he said, not knowing what else he could really saw.

She wondered to herself why he was smile she was merely trying to figure out what he was. Though she knew he didn't know that and she didn't yet find her voice letting a raspy voice escape her lips she was aware of the bulge between his legs but didn't really pay it too much mind jumping a little when he started apologizing nervously nodding her head she sat back giving him a strange look bowing head leaning forward her palms resting on the dark damp ground.

Curious if she'd be able to leave she slowly tried to get up but fell to the ground in a weak heap. It took her a few more tries but she managed to get to her feet. Slowly wobbling to the entrance she tentatively reached a hand out awaiting a jolt or loss of consciousness but it didn't happen her hand passing into the next cavern. She got excited a small squeak passing from her lips as she made her way towards the outside. It looked to her like it was the last time she was beyond her cave. the sky was dark, it was windy, it smelled of fresh rain. Nervously she took a step outside feeling the cold air on her skin but not registering she was cold as a shiver ran along her spine.

She could see lights off in the distance wondering how long she'd been asleep she looked back into the cave wondering where the person who awoke her was.

Zak blinked and scratched his head. He was more then just a little confused now.

He was wondering if they even spoke the saem language when she started to try and stand up. She saw she was having trouble and told up, about to offer her some help when she finally got to her feet. He watched her move carefully from where they were sittng to just outside the cave. He followed her slowly, worried she planned on just leaving him their and going about whatever bussinness she had, but luckily he did find her, gaving out at what looked to be towns in the distance.

There was something odd about her expression, like she was feeling something new- or something she hadn't felt in a long time. This cuased his to look around nerviously. Eventually though he put his hand lightly on her shoulder. "It's almost freezing out here. You should really come back inside. I... Still would very much like to talk to you. You can talk can't you?" he asked, shivering, every part of him already feeling chilly, except the spot on his chest which the dulled arrowheads of his necklace rested against, which seeemed unussually warm.

Suvette was lost in her thoughts on her strange surroundings. It seemed to her like she’d just been asleep but a few moments but things looked so different. She didn’t recall the lights off in the distance, or the forest being so sparse, the whole situation was confusing. ‘Did she put me under a spell?’ She thought to herself sighing weakly jumping when a hand rested on her shoulder. Turning her head towards the white haired man a twinge of fear running through her, he made her think of someone but she couldn’t think of whom at the moment but she shrug the feeling aside cocking her head to the side as he spoke of the cold weather, feeling it too, it didn’t affect her the same as it did him.

She opened her mouth like she was going to try and speak but closed her lips. Her attention grabbed by the boys necklace reaching her hand out hesitantly she’d touched it the glow emitting engulfing her body in a bright glow. As it faded she pulled away looking at him confusion in her eyes stepping back from him she ran away from him, into the woods in the direction of the city in the distance, as well as the lake which was once her home.

She didn’t know what to expect to find as she came to the lake now exposed the trees which hid it long since gone, she saw someone on the shore. An old woman who seemed but dust holding onto life. “Suvette.” The figure spoke turning to look towards her some of her face breaking away. “I apologize for what I did to you. I changed you into an abomination then sealed you away taking your life.” The old woman apologized Suvette reached out to touch her but the woman’s body crumbled into a pile of powder blowing away with the wind over the water. Leaving Suvette alone falling to her knees she wasn’t sure what she’d felt seeing the woman who had created her die before her very eyes. Looking around her she’d noticed someone in the bushes. ‘You…’ She thought to herself hesitantly getting to her feet looking towards the boy who’d found her in the cave a breeze blowing her hair in her face. Her body moved on it’s own, as she hurried to the stranger looking up at him wrapping her arms around him.

Zak was completely and absolutely lost. All he'd wanted to do was speak to the pretty swan girl he'd found in the cave, but suddenly she was fleeing from him, as if he'd done something terribly wrong, and he thought he had. He didn't want to make it seem like he was chasing her, but he couldn't let her go either. So he followed behind her, hoping he could catch up and apologize to her - for whatever it was that he'd done. He imagined it was something to do with his old necklace and how it was acting that frightened her away.

Things only became stranger and stranger from that point on. After a few minutes he stop dead in his tracks. He saw this odd old woman saying something to the swan0girl. Then the old woman turned to dust. He blinked a couple of times, unable to believe what just happened. The girl's reaction to seeing him again was almost as weird too.

First she ran from him, now she was hugging him? He shrugs inwardly and decided to just go with it. She was cute, and probably a little disturbed by whatever it was they just witnessed, so he put his own arms loosely around her waist and held her in a comforting way. "Are you alright?" he asked softly, wondering if he'd get an answer this time.

Suvette rested her cheek against his chest looking out over the once crystal water now green and dirty feeling saddened by its current state, she was so confused and she was with a human who confused her. He seemed interested in her and wanting to find out about her. But she didn’t yet have her voice so she didn’t know what to do finding the whole situation confusing.

Hearing him ask if she was olright she pulled away just enough to look up at him with a confused smile nodding. Reaching up she kissed his cheek hoping he’d at least get that she was thankful to him even if she had no clue what was going on.

She shifted wrapping her arms around herself looking past him and beyond her lake seeing the lights in the distance. Pointing towards them a questioning look on her face.

He didn't know any more about what was going on when she kissed his cheek, but it certainly distracted him from asking questions. He grinned wide and even blushed just a bit. He hadn't met anyone as beautiful as her, and she'd really just kissed him! He just looked at her dreamily for a couple seconds. His mind just so happened to once again go back to how her breasts were just covered by a couple of feathers...

He stopped this train of thought quickly though. It wasn't like him to go thinking things like that about nice young ladies he'd only just met. He was back to reality just in time to see her look at the lights in the distance and then back at him. He got the wrong impression. "You think we should try to walk back to civilization. Well, I can't blame you, this forest is starting to unnerve me, honestly, but we'd have to walk along the lake, and after that there's more to go then it looks, by then it'd practically be mourning. No, I think the best thing we should do is head back to that cave f your for tonight." he said casually, taking her hand now that there embrace broke and started walking.

"I don't mean to be rude or anything, but I've got to know.... Are you mute? It's okay i you are." he said as they walk hand in hand back the way that they'd came.

She pulled away when he spoke getting that she wanted to go to the city, but not wanting to walk around the lake she groaned inwardly wishing she could communicate with the stranger better. She’d been asleep in that cave for her whole lifetime and she didn’t really want to spend another minute there. When he’d asked her if she was mute she gave him a strange look not sure what he’d said and even if she did she wasn’t all to sure how to answer. He took her hand startling her and headed back towards the cave but she stopped jerking him back dropping his hand.

She pointed towards the lights again backing away from the cave towards the water. She gave him a look before jumping in the cool crystal water ripples traveling around her. Smiling as she floated on her back the water pressing her feathers flush against her skin partially exposing her body once hidden behind the gossamer plumage. She thought back to before the witch cast her spell back to when she’d belonged. But she knew she was an oddity, not human, no longer a bird, with a strange appearance as her mind sadly played over her realization she felt the air on her skin.

Looking around confused apparently her birdlike ability for light was there too. She was disoriented a moment till she calmed down looking around taking in the forest from her new perspective looking back down at the boy who’d found her.

Zak was trying his absolute best to interpret all of these complicated looks she was giving him. He didn't know how to communicate with this swan girl, he didn't even know where to start. He was able to get the impression that she didn't want to go back to the cave though. When she stopped he tried to explain "We can go to the city, it's just I figured before the walk we should get at least a couple hours of sleep. It's already very late..." then she jumped into the water.

He opened and closed his mouth a few times not sure what to say. One reason for this was that he was so confused. Before at least he had the faintest clue what she was trying to say, but now he was nire confused then ever. Also there was how she looked almost naked like that, with her feathers pressing close up against her body, and he was basically in awe. she was so astoundingly beautiful, and that body was perfection.

As he watched her everything felt as though it was getting stranger and stranger. He tried to onvey his confusion to her. Hopefully he'd see his expression and at least try to ive him a hand with figuring her out.

Suvette was feeling the breeze surround her a bright smile on her lips till she looked back seeing the look on the face of the boy who’d found her. She recognized that look. It looked to her a lot like the expression the prince she was made for had made upon seeing her. Quickly she’d fallen to the water her body light and she easily floated on the surface looking towards him fear in her eyes. Of how he’d react, if she scared him too much.

She was just as confused as he was. She couldn’t find her voice, or know how to speak in the first place, she wasn’t even sure what she was anymore. The woman who made her didn’t take the time to explain anything to her so she was just as lost as he was. She looked at him returning to the shore getting out of the water slowly looking at him.

She tried to think of how to convey her feelings on the cave crouching to the ground she drew in the soft dirt with her finger. Drawing something that resembled a cave getting his attention pointing to it she shook her head no. Trying to let him know she doesn’t want to go back to the cave. She looked up at him wondering if he understood what she was meaning.

He watched her on the water with awe in his eyes. She was amazing. He looked too shocked by everything to show a real positive or negative response, but when he saw her come back to him on the shore looking worried he smiled at her. He knelt down beside where she was drawing on the ground and watched quietly, knowing the speechless girl was trying to communicate something to him. Her meaning ws not all that hard to find.

"Ohhh, you don't want to go back to that cave? You'd like to try to get to town then. Can't blame you i guess, that place was kinda creepy.... It's a long walk though." he stood up again. dusting off his pants. "We better get started now if we're going to get there withour passing out." he says a smile returning, he grabs her hand and starts on their way along the lake.

Suvette stared up at him knowing she was probably scaring him her expression was vacant as she tried to read his. Hearing him say what she was trying to tell him she nodded furiously.

She'd been there most of he life she was a little scared to see what the world was like, but she didn't want to be in that cave another minute. She looked at him as he'd offered her his hand, and feeling bad about making him take the seemingly long trek to his world.

She took his hand getting up nodding silently. They started along a wooded path walking for what felt like hours seeing bright lights coming into view as she walked behind him.

He tried to appear comforting to a girl who looked to him as hough she'd been through quite a bit, but he couldn't quite tell anything by her expression. With her nod at least he knew where they were going. He smile at her as they walked hand in hand toward the city.

When they approached he was glad to see that, as he thought, this was one of the cities that was not very far at all from his home town. Spend the rest of the night here and then he could get home. But what of his new silent friend? Well, he'd let her decided later. He noticed how she was walking behind him, as if she was afraid of this place. He just lightly squeezed her hand and said "Don't worry. You're safe with me!" he smirked.

Not long after that he found a nice looking Inn. They bbth entered.

Suvette walked silently behind him as they got closer to the lights for the first time seeing the city up close. She saw it from a distance before she was put under the curse but that was it.

When he'd squeezed her hand she looked towards him a little curiously before offering a hint of a smile and a nod actually feeling safe with him. She was in awe as they made their way to the city. She'd never seen such tall buildings, and bright lights before. She walked more beside him looking at her surroundings in amazement.

Zak was used to cities that looked just the same as this many times, and could only assume his new freind had not. He actually liked the cute look of amazment on her face. It kinda made him try to look at everything from a new perpective.

Once at te inn he went to pay the man at the deak in the front. He was about to pay for two small rooms, but he only a very small amount of money when he went out and got lost. Only enough for one room. "We'll have to... uhm... share. I mean, don't worry about it. Just toss me a pillow and I'll just sleep on the couch-" he was then cut off as the man at the desk told him that the tiny room they could afford would practically be just a bed. No couch. Zak sigh and ends with "I'll take the floor. I'm tired enough to fall asleep anywhere anyway."

This place really is too small to even be called a motel, he thought. When they left here the next day he'd show her somewhere nicer. Atleast it was sort of cozy. Anywhere would be cozy now though. He smiled weakly at her as they went into their room.
