I don't know if this belongs here but I remember when actors kept their politics to themselves. When did actors and actresses political opinons become important? Most can't act worth a crap and they're over paid. Why would anybody care about an actors politics?

Celebrities know perfectly well that there are millions of people who care passionately about their sex lives, and will hunt through the gossip mags to learn about them in minutest detail. They therefore assume there are also millions of people who care about their political views; and, on the evidence, that assumption is far from irrational. No, there is no obvious reason why actors should be any more politically sophisticated than the guy who changes your oil. Nevertheless, who can blame them for spouting off about politics? You would, too, if you knew millions were listening.
