I am not really sure Reci, but it seems the moderate rep stepped down. Conservatives seem pretty happy. Now it seems there is a dead heat. I am reading more about it now, but it is interesting the establishment is getting questioned. |

Yet more proof, as if more were needed, that there is zero room in the Republican Party for moderates. They've thrown their lot behind the "Conservative Party" candidate, because "he's basically a Republican."
Hoffman has a slim chance of winning in the moderate NY district. He will, however, divide the Republican vote and most likely give the seat to Democratis contender Bill Owens.
The best part is that Ex-Governor Palin helped to make it possible..

As I said in another thread, I was very surprised to see some of the past chums of the right now considered RINOs. One of which I never thought I would see labeled was Newt. I have been reading Michelle Malkin's blog, and it seems the GOP is not conservative enough and have drifted away from the conservative values.
That aside, I do not have a crystal ball as to who will win the race, but the bigger question I have is, what significance does this race have in terms of the far right vs. moderates in other races? Will this mean a change by sending the GOP further right or the splits and factions leading to infighting ensuring more Democratic Party wins?
Time will tell, but it is interesting to see. Bill Moyers (Yeah, yeah, he is a communist ) talking about this, and while I disagree it is the death of conservatism, but I do feel the infighting is not helping matters any. Again, other races will see what really happens. |
