My budgie died today!

After many years of being a faithful, if untrained companion, our beloved budgie Sprite died today. It's very sad and there have been tears. He never really got over the culture shock of our move, poor thing. He will be missed.

We've had three of the little squawkers, one is still alive.

It's getting pretty old.

He was kinda my bud. I am a night owl in a house full of morning larks. He stayed up with me and kept me company. He was also my study buddy and when my son could not deal with animals in general, he taught him that bird are cool and just as nervous as he is...he will be missed. I am looking at his empty cage now and am so bummed...

I had to laugh at this because I felt the same way after ours were gone

At one point I had 16, from Yellow Napes on down to PKs, mostly raised from the egg...

Rose, I am sorry though.

My little parakeets were more trained and better pets than any of the larger ones. Too bad they don't live as long as the larger ones...
