Just another day in high school

Sarah sat there looking at the cool kids from afar. She always wanted to be one of them but they'd never accept her. She was a skater girl. A loser to them.

The privledged popular girls seldom looked at Sarah for friendship, but there was Chelsea who always had this slight smile whenever she saw Sarah, but Chelsea made sure non of her cool friends saw her being nice to Sarah... that could affect her status among the girls. Sarah and Chelsea used to be friends when kids, but thru time Sarah and Chelsea changed and became 2 different categories.. seeing sarah sit alone, Chelsea looked around and seeing none of her friends are around, approaches Sarah and says "hey Sarah.. its been a while since I talked to you". Chelsea looked around every now and then which Sarah could evidently see.

"Yea it has. Makeing sure non of your cool friends are around?" Sarah held onto the skatebored that Chelsea had once given her for a birthday gift.

Seeing Sarah frustrated Chelsea says "you need to understand Sarah.. I have friends who cant understand things..".. a moment of silence pass.. seeing the sadness on Sarah's face, Chelsea say "Come to my place for dinner tonight, will you? .. Mom will be happy to see you after such a long time.. please Sarah?" .. Chelsea waits for a response.

"You picked your friends and let me hang by myself. I'll come over. But not for you." Sarah picked up her things and walked away. They'd been the best of friends growing up, but now it was as if they were in two different worlds.

Sarah glared at them. "You guys thing your so smart. Your idiots." Her blonde hair hung down her back in waves as her green eyes slightly shone. Sheturned away from them and walked away.

Chelsea watches sadly as Sarah leaves and dissapears behind the wall... Upon reaching home, Chelsea prepares for the night. She informed her mom about Sarah's visit. Her mom was really happy coz she always loved Chelsea being friends with Sarah. The big mansion was a lot of work to arrange for guests.

Pulling the wardrobe open, Chelsea looked for outfits to wear for the night when she stubbled on a pink tshirt which Sarah had presented her a couple of years ago for her birthday. Enthusiastically she runs to the front of the mirror and pull her tank top off and praying that the tshirt fits her, she wears it ...... it was perfect for her, a bit tight around the breasts but nothing bad though. It looked perfect on Chelseas body.. Doing her hair and pulling on a nice pink PJ shorts, Chelsea was now ready to receive her best old friend for the night. Eagerly waiting for Sarah, she strolled around the living room for a few minutes, looking out of the window every now and then to see if she is there yet.

Sarah walked down the street heading to Chelsea's place. She'd told her dad she was going out but he was to busy drinkin beer as normal. She stopped in front of the house and sighed. It had been years since she'd been here. "Better make the best of it." She went to knock on the door.

Chelsea ran to the door eagerly and open the door and grabbed Sarah into a hug and says "I am so happy you came". Leading her inside, Chelsea calls out to her Mom mentioning Sarah is home. Chelsea's Mom walked into the living room and said hi to Sarah and she could see seriousness in Sarah's stiff behavior and decided to give Chelsea and Sarah some time alone to sort things up.

A nice dinner is served and the girls and Chelsea's Mom sits and eats a merry meal. But Sarah was too silent, occasionaly answering to the lady's questions. Chelsea's Mom says "Well, i will go get some dessert".. turning to Chelsea she says "Why dont you come and help me serve the dessert in the kitchen Chelsea?".. Chelsea follows her mom to the kitchen.

The lady asks in a whisper "What wrong with you girls, Chelsea?" ... she replies "Mom, it complicated.. "... "Well then uncomplicate it dear", Chelsea's Mom responds.. she continues "Be nice to her, I love that kid to death,.. she has suffered enough with a drunk dad and no one to take care of her." ... Chelsea silently knods her head as she feels guilty of how she left Sarah for her new friends. She decides to change things with Sarah. Picking the desserts in 2 bowls in both her hands, Chelsea walks back into the dinning room saying "ice cream with hot chocolate topping". The Mom follows her and says "girls, I better get some sleep coz I need to be up early tomorrow". She walks to Sarah and says "I am so glad you came Sarah.. and I hope you come back here soon". Turning back to Chelsea she says "heyy, why dont you invite your friends and Sarah for a sleep over next weekend?".. Chelsea hesitates with the thought of her "cool" friends and Sarah spending the night together in one room.. but finally after a few second of pause she says "that would be great".

The lady leaves to her bedroom leaving the two tempered girls alone in the room. Silence takes over the room as the girls eat their desserts. Chelsea breaks the silence saying "You wanna go sit near the pool in the backyard?"

"Sure." Sarah got up from the table. "I see you still have the shirt I gave you." She walked out and sat by the pool, running her hand along the water.

It was a moonlit night and the pool water threw sparkles on Sarah's face as she sat there by the pool playing with the water.. Chelsea sits opposite to her and she plays with the water too as she says "I have always kept this tshirt.." pausing for a few moments she continues "Sarah.. I want us back as good friends again.. like old times.. I mean it"

Sarah looks up at her. "Yea well your other friends wouldnt like me hanging around."

Without even thinking Chelsea says quite loudly "they can go screw themselves".. and suddenly she stops... and they both look at each other for a brief moment and burst into laughter... Chelsea splashes some water at Sarah and giggles

Sarah grins and splashes her back. "We havent had this much fun is years"

The water splashing gets heavier and they both push each other into the pool and giggling they take a swim in the pool in that lovely night with the moonlight. Chelsea's Mom looks out of the window from her room in the distance and sees the girls back to being best friends and goes to bed peacefully.. They both get all drenched and Chelsea asks Sarah "Why dont you stay over for the night?.. I can give you my PJs for the night to change into"

"Cant. You know how my dad is. He may not care how late Im out but If I dont come home he'll beat me." Sarah sighs and pulls out a small box and hands it to her. "Seeing as how your birthday is tomorrow."

Chelsea awws at the present and hugs Sarah tight and then starts unpacking the small box.. pulling off the covering around the box she eagerly and patiently opens the box to see a lovely little ring with a cute red heart on it. With teary eyes, she grabs Sarah for a hug, holding onto her like she wouldnt let go of her again.. The sight was lovely,.. two completely drenched girls indulged in a tight lovely hug on a clear skied moonlight night by the pool, with the water reflections blazed lines of flashes at them as they stay there.

Sarah hugged her back. "So what are you going tell your 'cool' friends? Or are we going to back to how we were this morning?"

Chelsea says "I need some time Sarah.. some time to get things straight with them.. to let them understand that you mean a lot to me.. will you be patient with me?.. let me work hard this week and next week I want that sleep over with you and my friends.. and that day I hope we fix everything and be all friends"

Sarah laughed an uneasy laugh. "You and I both know they will never accept me." Shara stands up and looks at the stars. "I should be heading home."

Chelsea holds Sarahs hand and says "They will understand... if they want me as their friend, then they better understand.... please dont leave tonight.. I have so many things to tell you Sarah."

"I guess I can face a beating in the morning or whenever I get home. Just dont be shocked if ya see me all beat up in school." Sarah sighed. She hated her dad. Her mom was overseas doing fashion crap and she was stuck with a drunk.
