"...and don't forget to water the plants!"

"I won't Mom!" Cate rolled her eyes and followed her mother from room to room as the semi frantic mother searched for her address book. Her parents were going to do a big trip up and down the Eastern coast visiting family and whatnot for the next two weeks and she and her brother were going to house sit over the Spring Break rather than blowing the cash they didn't have joining the rest of their friends in Cabo.

Cate leaned against the doorframe of the bathroom as her mother threw things into a carry on, a tall lithe girl studying to be a pharmist at the college the next town over she wore her blonde hair down, and had a few bright pink streaks in it. Every finger had a ring, even her thumb, and she wore a tank top and cut offs since her mother had her crawling around the attic eariler looking for suitcases.

"Oh, and don't forget..."

"MOM, everything will be fine! You're going to miss your plane if you don't leave!" She reached over and tossed in Dad's toothbrush into the bag as well, since he forgot it, and her mothers hand lotion. "Just go!"

She trailed her mother back downstairs to the kitchen where her father was waiting.
"GO!" She smiled and shooed them out the door.

She waved as their car pulled out of the driveway into the falling gloom of evening.

"Geez, I thought they'd never go." Cate said, shaking her head.

A low, low whistle could be heard from the top of the staircase, like a small tune. "Aaaand let the week of suck begin."

Darren was standing atop the staircase, his hands over the railing as he watched his mother and father walk out of the house, alook of boredom over his otherwise plain face. Like his sister, he too had blonde hair, but it was somewhat shorter and tied up in a pony tail. HIs brown eyes hidden behind the glasses he had needed since he was 7. He turned and walked down the stairs.

"You realize this is going to be a very, very, very, long week." he said, emphasizing every "Very" with a step on the stairs. He loved his sister, really he did, but on the occasion he was left with her...she mightas well have been younger version of his mother. RUles this, rules that, ever since she baby sat him when he was younger than his 19 year old self.

"So..' he said, as he finally it the bottom. "What does my darling sister have in store for this week?" He asked. "I'm brimming with excitement."

"Brim this." She held up a middle finger with a grin.

"I am sooo burnt out on the whole school thing, honestly, at this point I just want to relax." She flopped down on the couch. "I mean, I could be on the beach in a thong right now, but right now? That seems like just as much work as school."

She looked over at him. "Tell you what, we'll have a party, and no chores untril the day before trash day and the day before they come back...deal?"

"Oh yes, a visage of my sister in a thong. That's what I've always wanted to possibly imagine." he smirked own at her as he walked overand hung over the back of the couch.

"A party, hm/" He asked after a moment of her suggesting it. It would e a change of pace. And even then, he could hold off near a week of chores until the last minute. A whole week of relaxation sounded reallly really good, now that he thought about it, and a part could get his mind ff of school, like his sister wanted.

"Yeah, a party would actually be pretty good.' he grinned.

"Is there anyone decent left in town to invite?" She asked and then got up. "More importantly, is there anything decent left in the house to drink?"

She got up and reached into a vase to get a key for the liquer cabneit. It was dusty because their parents didn't really drink, but kept the stuff around for the odd party.

"Let's see..." She opened up the wooden doors and revealed a selection of bottles, some with their gift tags still attached as they had been gifts. "You know, we could probably get wasted every single night and they wouldn't even realize anything was missing." She grabbed a bottle of rum and waved it at him.

"Hey, order some pizza, I'll get some coke and we'll have a movie night and plan the party."

"I'll grab the phone and the horror movies.' he said as he walked off down to the kitchen and grabbed the phone. Hopping onto the counter, he began to speak as someone else picked up the phone on the other end.

"Yeah, could I get a large pizza, half sausage, half cheese, at..." he gave him the adress, requesting some fries and onion rings as sides. Writing down the price, he walked into his room and grabbed his extensive horror movie collection>Ranging from the greats.

"Okay, we have the Child's Play Series, Nightmareon Elm Streets, Friday the Thireenth, Blair Witch Projects, Poltergeists, Quarentine, MIrrors....."

She was walking around the room, locking the door, closeing the curtains when he returned.

"Nightmare sounds good," She sat, pouring stiff drinks, half rum and half coke in large glasses. "Can't get enough of Johnny Depp getting eaten by his waterbed."

She kicked off her flip flops and put her feet up on the coffee table, a HUGE no no in Mom's book. "I feel wicked doing this." She laughed, and wiggled her toes. "Like any second Mom will come in and say Cathrine Emma! What are your feet doing on the coffee table!"

He laughed a little bit and joiedher by her side a moment later. his feet kicked up on the table after he put the movie in and put his hands behind his head.

"You're not allowed to sound like mom anymore.' he said. "You sound WAY too much like her."

"It's the curse of daughters to turn into their mothers." She punched him in the shoulder. "That's why dudes say 'check out the mother before you commit' because that's where you're going to be in twenty years. At least mom still has her looks, I'm not ashamed of that part. But the twice a week dusting...? That can go." She clinked her glass against his before taking a healthy drink.

"What fair maid is on your radar, little bro? Some hot mama from chem class or something?"

"Meh, there's no one really on my mind right now," he said conversationally as he swished the contents of his glass around. "Which is sad, really, now that I think about it."

"Ho about you?" he asked his sister, looking over at her. "Soeone chasing after thast tail?

She gave him a look.

"Of course, always. Tails on lock down til summer though, I can't afford not to study." She looked at the screen instead of him though when she said this because, frankly? Tail on lockdown wasn't a happy place to be, but finding a steady boyfriend who wasn't a prick was too much time and effort.

She could feel the rum working in her system and rolled her head around to loosen her neck. "Why are you chasing any?"

[Warr]

"Meh, none's catching my attention." he said, swishing the contents round once again before sipping his drink. "Can'tsay none of them are fine, though, always are, but..."

He looked over at the screen. "Either taken or a raging bitch, if you know what I'm saying.' he said with a small chuckle.

She laughed, and ruffled his hair. "Sure I do, since I am one, you've told me often enough!"

The door bell ran and she got up, a little wobbly from drinking too fast, and made quick work of getting the food from the delvery guy.

"Shall we live dangerously and NOT use plates?" She teased.

"Why, since we're breaking the sacred rule of no feet on the table, I think we could live in the fast lane and eat without plates. Bum, bum, BUM." He grinned.

Taking the box and setting it between the two, he opened i and took a slice out of it, taking a big bite out of it and swallowing it, following it with a shot of his drink.

A few moments later, he too wa feeling a little bit wobbly. He didn't say anything though, his mouth area overed in grease from the pizza. He chuckled a little bit, his eyes drifting a little bit, looking over at his sister. "Heh...did we really just eat that pizza without plates?"

She giggled and undid the top of her cut offs. "Oh god, I'm going to have to do a million crunches!" She laughed, and then burped.

Surprized she covered her mouth with her hand. "Sorry." She said then looked over at him booziliy. "You know, you could change you're look up a bit...not so nerd? Bring it up a notch to hot nerd?

She took off his glasses and played with his hair.

He swated her away with a frown, but it turned into a drunken grin. "Yeah, yeah, and could you at least stop being a bitch, and maybe stop being a bitch."

He grinned and pushed his sister. "And about to undo your jeans, you're such a..." he burped a litle. "You're such a whore...." he grinned teasingly.

[Warr]

"You realize your're repeating yourself, right?" She asked, refilling her drink with rum, and forgetting the coke.

"Whore? Hey, that's harsh shitface!" She protested. "I could be in Mexico right now flashing my tits on the beach instead of sitting with a geek like you."

"YOu realize that didn't exactly help your situation of not being a whore, to go around and proudly state that you would flash your tits while in mexico."

He hccuped and burped a little bit. "And don't call me shit face, I was only teasing you, ya know..." He took a deep breath, t keep himself from barfing.

"Everyone flashes their tits in Mexico during spring break." She stated matter of factly. "If mom and dad were going there this week, mom would flash her tits. DAD would flash his tits. Mexico is spelled T I T S. " She winked at him.

Thinking about flashing her tits made her nipples hard and she sat back against the arm of the couch with her back against it and her feet on his theighs while the guy on the TV thought he was making out with a hot chick that would turn into Freddie any second. "Honestly, have you even seen real tits? Or touched them?" She asked, taking a drink.

"Ew. Ohgod EW. Please don't make me ever tink about DAD flashing ANYONE EVER for ANY reason."

And the the question of him seeing/feeling a pair of tits. he cleared his throat and rubed the back of his head in an embaressed way. "Well...no, no I haven't." he said.

"Why not?" She asked, her feet pushing against his leg rythmically, like a cat kneading. "I'm sure you had chances, I mean... you're not THAT replusive, if I don't look at you like the kid who peed in my closet...If I just saw you on the street or something."

"Gee, hanks, my self esteem needed that." he said under his breath. "And nope, never had the opportunity. Closest I ever came was this party at Vance Evan's party, a gil was drunk off her ass and she was hitting on me then BAM, second later she's passed out." he mumbled. "And I'm not the kind of person who'd molest someone whose unconcious. Let her be concious and we'll see how it goes."

"No second base?" She felt sorry for the kid. "Really, geez, rat boy, you're what, 19 and...is this some sort of reglious thing?"

They'd gone to church until they said they didn't want to anymore, she stopped when she was 13, but their parents still went every Sunday. Maybe he was saving himself, who was she to judge.

"Not for a lack of trying.' he snapped. "Remember what I said, either they're taking, or a raging bitch. EIther way, I'm not gonna try just to get the boyfiend to snap my arm off, or the girl to snap my leg off. Either way, I'm gonna lose something. Just..not my virginity."
