Bar Scene (Open)

Matt usually didn't do the bar thing that much, maybe every now and then with some friends but never alone and never to pick up women or anything like that. But all his friends were hooked up and hanging out with them always made him feel like a third wheel and staying at home on a weekend wasn't something he did.

So here he was in a packed bar alone with a beer pondering why he was the only single guy left in his group of friends. He wasn't a bad looking guy, black haired, brown eyes, light brown skin, not to tall but not short at all. He was a nice guy easy to get along with and pretty laid back. So it didn't make sense why he was single. He shrugged, well hey at least you can always pick up a beer at the bar even if you can't find a girl.

Alison: 5'9, 120lbs, tan skin, dark brown hair, bright green eyes....

Alison found herself yet again, sitting at home, alone on a saturday night.... She sighed and pushed herself up off the couch. Her roommates were both gone, one was working and the other was out with his latest in a long string of girlfriends. She decided on an impluse to take her roommate up on his offer. He worked as a bartender at a bar not too far from their house and had offered to buy her first drink if she came out that night. So she slipped a pair of heels on to complete her outfit, dark jeans and a fitted tshirt and headed to the bar.

It was semi-crowded...but she had seen it alot worse. She made her way to the bar glancing around and noting there were no empty seats...there was one but it had a jacket draped over it so she walked up and leaned over it to get her roommate's attention, "Hey bartender..I'll be havin that free drink now." He turned and laughed at her and poured her the drink, passing it to her. She looked over at the guy sitting on the stool next to where she was standing and smiled. He happend to be a good looking guy, he was probably saving the seat for his gf.

Matt smiled at the girl standing next to his stool. She had long legs and amazing green eyes. Her smile put him off a bit he didn't know what to say to her. "So you wanna sit down? I promise i won't bite" he says patting the seat next to him and sticks his hand out "I'm Matt"

Rick Stokes- 6'2", 180 lbs, athletic, light brown hair, kind brown eyes.

Rick sipped on his cool beer, looking around the bar. As always, he'd brought his girlfriend, but at the moment she was using the restroom, leaving him time to survey the scene. He looked up and saw another attractive girl, eyeing the seat next to Matt. He gave Matt a dig in the ribs, and motioned with his head toward the girl, as she approached, seeming to hesitate. This seemed to be the chance of the night for his roommate.

Alison smiled and nodded her head, "Thanks. I figured the seat was taken." she shook his hand, "I'm Ali." She climbed onto the stool and glanced around and waved at a few of the regulars she recognized.

Matt looked over at Rick and mumbled "what man can't you see I'm trying to talk to this chick" he looks back at the girl "so do i get a name? or is it kinda like a secret?" This girl was cute but he had fallen for the cute ones it didn't always go well so he needed to find out if there was anything else going on with her.

Alison laughed, "My name's Alison...friends call me Ali." as she took a sip of her drink she looked at him, he seemed like he was sizing her up...not in a creepy way like alot of guys...more like he was trying to decide if it was worth his time to talk to her...it made her smile

Rick had always had bad timing. He laughed, realizing Matt had already seen the girl. Leaving Matt to his game, Rick sat back, waiting for his girlfriend to come back to the seat beside him.

Matt grins seeing that he's getting a few smiles out of her, maybe this will go well he thinks to himself. "Well its a pleasure to meet you". He nods over to Rick. "It would be rude not to introduce you to my trusty sidekick, this is Rick." He realizes that he just rhymed and thought about how lame that must of sounded but he grins hiding his embarrassment. "So Miss Allison what brings you here?"

Alison smiles at Rick, "Nice to mee you both." she then turns her attention back to Matt, shrugging her shoulders, "Well, it beats sitting at home alone right?.....and the drinks are cheap and strong." she smiles when she sees her roommate, the bartender look over at her. "The bartender's my roommate so I've got the hookup here."

Matt chuckles a bit running his eyes down Allison's body "Strong drinks huh? well I don't mean to be rude but you don't look like you can hand yourself, I mean i don't want to have to carry you back to your house if you pass out in here." He takes a sip of his beer and grins waiting on what she might say.

OOC: I'm just gonna let you two go on, until my girlfriend shows up... I know she's around here somewhere...

Alison laughed as she finished off her drink, "You'd be suprised my friend." she pushed her glass back towards the bartender and smiled, "Right Jason?" the bartender laughed as he poured her another drink then looked at Matt, "Good luck to you."

Her roommate's statment to Matt made her laugh and she shook her head.... "So...what brings you here Matt?...I don't recognize you so you're not a regular."

Matt looks over at Rick and sighs, knowing exactly what he was thinking. God Rick would do anything for a free drink. He shook his head a little and looks over at Allison and smiles "eh i guess the same thing as you, bored at home being stuck looking at this loser so i came out to see what the night might bring me, and it seems the company's a lot better then what I had in mind."

Alison laughed, "Yeah, it seems this nights not a total bust afterall." she smiled at him as she took another drink, "It's been a while since Ive gone out...work keeps me busy so its a refreshing change of pace."

Matt finishes off his beer and orders another one and sighs "oh yeah tell me about it, its been work and school for the past few days it feels great to be out and have a drink, maybe chat with a pretty lady, you know just enjoy the night." "so what are you drinking?"

She laughed, "Vodka Red Bull....yeah yeah yeah, typical girl drink, I know." she smiled at him.

A minute later the bartender approached them again, "Ali, you're almost up."

Alison turned to look at him, "How bout no?...I really don't think so..not tonight, Im just here to chat with my new friend Matt..."

The bartender laughed and shook his head, "Come on, you know the deal, you want free drinks?....You don't have to answer that, just be ready when the music starts."

Alison rolled her eyes, turning her attention back to Matt, "Sorry. THAT would be the downfall to the evening I suppose." she laughed.

Matt smiles "Or we can make a quick get-a-way my apartment's just around the corner." He stands up laying his money for the drinks on the counter and grabs his jacket.

She laughs, looking down at her roommate who is in a conversation with a regular. She looks back at Matt, "I really don't make a habit of going home with guys whom Ive just met, but.....if it gets me out of doing that stupid dance on the bar...." she hops down off the stool and takes a few steps away from the bar.

Matt laughs wrapping his jacket around Ali "hey like i said i don't bite". He looks over at Rick, "Hey man I'm about to get out of here, and you need to check on your girl she's been in that bathroom for a good minute."

Alison laughed and said goodbye to Rick as they headed for the door. When the got outside she turned and looked at Matt, "Does he really have a girlfriend or did you guys make that up?....because she's been in the bathroom the entire time if she does in fact exist..." she laughed and fell into step with Matt. "I owe you one for getting me out of that."

Matt laughs "I blame cheap burritos". Matt wraps his arm around Ali's waist as they walk along the street, it was the start of autumn so the nights had gotten a bit cooler, nothing unbearable but enough to make him shiver a bit. "So you dance at the bar?" he asks Ali, he had kinda figured she danced, or maybe gymnastics, her body was in pretty good shape.

She laughed, "My everyday job is a dancer, but not at a bar. I dance for the NY Dance Acadamy....the dancing at the bar thing is strictly supposed to be a fun thing, they play that "Devil went down the Georgia" song and I do the dance that goes with it..."

Matt laughs as the come to the building of his apartment "well its a good thing i didn't ask you to dance, i would have made a fool out of myself." He walks her into the elevator and presses the button to his floor and stands back stretching a bit.

She laughed, "Or I would have made you look really good." she smiled at him. She leaned against the wall of the elevator as it started to climb up to his floor.
